2025 Player Rankings: Top Setters & Liberos

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This week, the first edition of the <a href="https://prepdig.com/ohio/rankings/2025-rankings/"><strong>2025 Player Rankings</strong></a>were released.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The group includes a total of 30 players from around the state and is a tremendous class when it comes to future potential.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We've looked at all the hitters, which make up 24 of our 30 slots. Here's a look at the ranked setters and defenders in the initial class rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Setter</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>1. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156295' first='Campbell' last='Flynn'], Mercy/Legacy</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flynn is our top-ranked player overall in this class and for good reason. She will be pushing to be among the top-ranked players in the Class of 2025 nationally. She's got all the tools. She splits time at setter and outside during the prep season, and is elite at both positions. Great athleticism, technically sound, and a high court IQ.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>2. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156293' first='Ella' last='Craggs'], Northville/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Craggs was with Flynn last year at Mercy, but finds herself at Northville this fall running the Mustang offense. Craggs has great touch on her sets and is athletic and agile enough to make a clean set out of some difficult situations. She's spreading the ball out well and has Northville hitting at a high rate as a team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>3. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='224597' first='Abigail' last='Pickard'], Lakewood/FaR Out</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A multi-sport, multi-position standout. Pickard is able to use her raw athleticism and instincts to excel on the volleyball and basketball court. In volleyball, she's a determined and hard-nosed player that gives her all to each point.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>4. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='224600' first='Cali' last='Stevons'], DeWitt/MVA</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Stevons is playing more of a defensive role this fall for DeWitt, but she's got the ability to excel at setter or libero. She's active with her feet and covers a lot of ground to get to some tough digs. As a setter, she's a good communicator and develops a quick chemistry with her hitters.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2><strong>Libero</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>1. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156321' first='McKenna' last='Payne'], SMCC/Michigan Elite</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Payne is our top-ranked libero, but she's also able to be a standout hitter for the Division 3 power, SMCC. Payne just has great natural athleticism and instincts on the court. She's very poised and a consistent playmaker. Her digging technique is outstanding, and her power at the net is eye-catching.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2>2. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='156322' first='Madi' last='Peal'], GR Christian/MVA</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Peal has been learning the ropes of being the GRC libero for years and now is getting her chance to show what she can do. Peal never gives up on a ball and has thrown her body around to make big plays. Her instincts are on point and she plays with a lot of confidence for her age.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
