Here are five 11th Region juniors to watch.
Kyla Atkins: A setter/outside hitter, Atkins is a student-athlete from Madison Southern. Thriving as a sophomore in 2019, Atkins delivered 529 assists, 204 digs, 77 service aces, 75 kills and 23 blocks. Versatile, Atkins is a vocal leader who is efficient in setting balls for teammates and identifying blockers.
Keri Blair: A middle blocker, Blair is a student-athlete from Tates Creek. Blair was consistent for 43rd District runner-up Tates Creek throughout the 2019 high school volleyball season, posting 224 kills, 105 blocks, 47 digs and 37 service aces in 34 matches. Agile, Blair uses quick attacks on offense and reads opposing hitters to set up blocks regularly.
Campbell Gash: A setter, Gash is a student-athlete from Paul Laurence Dunbar. Among the leaders for Paul Laurence Dunbar during the 2019 high school volleyball season, Gash logged 368 assists, 113 digs and 21 service aces over 30 matches. Gash runs offenses efficiently and has shown the ability to dig and block defensively.
Riley McChord: A setter, McChord is a student-athlete from Lafayette. McChord was a key performer for Lafayette throughout the 2019 prep volleyball season, contributing regularly as the Generals compiled a 26-10 overall record. Lafayette recorded the top RPI Ranking (.64319) in the 11th Region during the 2019 season. A proven leader, McChord is communicative and makes quick decisions routinely.
Lucy Wedding: An outside hitter, Wedding is a student-athlete from Lexington Catholic. Highly productive, Wedding led Lexington Catholic in four different categories during the 2019 prep volleyball season, registering 346 kills, 30 blocks, 317 digs and 43 service aces. A go-to hitter and a solid passer, Wedding has displayed the ability to produce from both the front and back rows.
