Grand Island Northwest remains at the top of the Class B rankings with a perfect 23-0 mark and Bertrand has taken over as the #1 team in Class D-2 with a record of 17-0. In a quest for an undefeated season, both teams have favorable schedules for the remainder of the season. However, a showdown between Northwest and Class B #2 Lincoln Pius X in Grand Island on Oct. 29 is looming and should be a can’t-miss-match.
Millard West remains #1 in Class A, but will be put to the test in the coming weeks. The Wildcats face #9 Millard North tonight and then travel to #2 Lincoln Southwest tomorrow night. Millard West then has matches at #6 Grand Island on Oct. 15 and at #3 Omaha Marian on Oct. 22.
Columbus Scotus and Hastings St. Cecilia remain the top teams in Class C-1 and C-2, respectively, and each competes in the ultra-competitive Centennial Conference Tournament this week with the likes of Grand Island Central Catholic, Omaha Concordia, Lincoln Christian and others.
