The Vikings were ranked #28 last week but moved up four spots after winning its district title last week. Northwest hosts Gering on Saturday in the substate round of the playoffs with the wining reaching the state tournament.
Millard West, 34-2 and ranked #1 in Class A, is ranked #74 in the nation following its A-1 district championship last night. The Wildcats moved up from #81 last week and will next play on Thursday, Nov. 14, as the #1 seed in the Class A state tournament.
Waverly, which was ranked #74 in the nation last week, dropped out following its loss to Lincoln Pius X. The Nebraska teams PrepVolleyball.com lists as contenders are: Aurora, Gretna, Lincoln North Star, Lincoln Southeast, Lincoln Southwest, Millard North, Norris, Omaha Marian, Omaha Skutt, Papillion-La Vista, Pius X and Waverly.
