Performance Volleyball Club in southwest Omaha has hired new Papillion-LaVista South head coach Brad Reichmuth as its first Club Director.
Performance VBC is the new name for the former Nebraska Impact, which was sold over the summer. Hiring Reichmuth as Club Director is another in a long line of changes the new ownership has made to the club and the facility – which is now known as The Factory.
Club owner Jodi Schendt said making massive updates to the facility, rebranding the club and finding the right person to serve as club director were the most important things to accomplish this summer. In hiring Reichmuth, Schendt said, the club was able to get a coach with experience at the college, club and high school levels, making him a perfect fit for the club’s focus on having a good time while at the same time providing a high level of training for the players.
“We are truly blessed to have Brad join our Performance VBC family,” Schendt said. “Not only does Brad posses an amazing volleyball resume, he also brings with him degrees in counseling, math and special needs. He’s a great asset to the club and we are so excited to work with him this year.”
Reichmuth started his volleyball career by playing on the Men’s Volleyball Team at the University of Nebraska. He was a DS as a Freshman/Sophomore then earned the starting setter role his Junior/Senior season.
After graduation he began coaching high school in Omaha and produced the first ever winning season for Omaha Central. During his time in Omaha he also coached for Nebraska Juniors where he led the 16s team to a National Championship. While coaching for Nebraska Juniors, Brad coached several Division I players that went on to play at schools such as Nebraska, Michigan State and Texas Tech. In 1999 Brad accepted an Assistant Coaching position at Texas Tech University.
Most recently Brad continued his high school coaching in the Dallas/Fort Worth area before he became a school counselor in 2006. Since that time, Brad has been working for 900 Volleyball Club as an Assistant Director and Head Coach of the 18 ELITE Team which won the North Texas Region and Qualified for Nationals Championships this summer.
