SALT LAKE CITY – While most of the local volleyball action this weekend is focused on the Asics President’s Day Classic in Omaha, Nebraska Juniors will have teams competing this weekend in the Triple Crown Volleyball Pre-Season NIT in Salt Lake City.
Nebraska Juniors 181, ranked #50 in the nation and loaded with many of the top seniors in the state, finds itself in a pool of other national powers. In fact, at #50, Nebraska Juniors is the lowest-ranked team in its pool in the 18 Open division.
Wave (California) is ranked #25 in the nation and is led by Purdue recruit Lexi Dorn at setter. Also in the pool is #26 Forza1 Asics with UCLA recruit setter Kylie Miller and UC-Irvine OH Loryn Carter. Mizuno Long Beach is #27 in the nation with Hawaii commit Norene Iosia at setter and LSU recruit Milan Stokes at OH. Triangle is ranked #36 in the nation and has setter Tori Dozier (North Carolina State), and middles Katharine Esterley (North Carolina) and Caitlyn Della (Wake Forest) all headed to ACC schools. Rounding out the pool is #37 Club V with 6-foot-4 BYU recruit Kennedy Redding at MH.
Nebraska Juniors 181 features Ord’s Morgan Alexander (Wayne State), North Platte’s Alex Neff (Doane College) and Gretna junior Cameron Scott at setter along with Omaha Marian’s Brittany Witt (Creighton) and Lincoln Southwest’s Taylor Els (Northern Colorado) at libero and DS. Up front, Nebraska Juniors 181 features Humphrey-Lindsay Holy Family’s Tarrin Beller (Wayne State), Kelsey Green of Elkhorn South, Doniphan-Trumbull’s Lauren Hinrichs (Wichita State), Aurora’s Kiley Hixson (South Dakota), Papillion-LaVista South’s Raegan LeGrand (USC), Millard West’s Cassidy Loberg (Central Missouri), Omaha Marian’s Elizabeth Loschen (South Dakota) and North Platte’s Olivia Nicholson (Colorado State).
Nebraska Juniors 182 also is competing in the division and is in the same pool as SDVBC, Club V – Red and SIVBC Tsunami.
Nebraska Juniors 171 will be competing in the 17 Open division while Nebraska Juniors 161 is in 16 Open
