Notes: The Class A state tournament pretty well showed that there was a clear line between the top four teams and the rest of the field given that all four first round matches were sweeps followed by thrilling five-set matches in both semifinals and the championship. Millard North should not apologize to anyone for winning the state title despite 11 losses on the year. Most coaches, all year long, considered the Mustangs the most dangerous team in the state given all their young talent and outstanding senior duo of Elise Baumann and Madison Johnson. The injury to Omaha Marian middle Sarah Wing was terrible to have happen prior to state and it brought the Crusaders back to the pack for the final weekend of the year. The only change at the bottom of the rankings is Millard South moving in at #01. The Patriots finished the season strong, winning 11 of their last 15 and were very competitive in Metro Conference losses to Papillion-LaVista and Millard West. Grand Island fell out of the rankings after being upset by North Platte in the first round of districts.
