WAHOO – Bishop Neumann sophomore Kelsie Cada ripped 13 kills to helped lead the Cavaliers to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-16 win over Archbishop Bergan on Tuesday night.
Neumann, ranked #5 in Class C-1, improved to 8-1 with the victory while Bergan, ranked #8 in Class C-2, dropped to 8-3 on the season.
Neumann controlled the first and second sets of the match before Bergan pushed the Cavaliers early in the third set. A kill from the Knights’ Alyssa Mendlik tied the third set 3-3 and later on in the set, a kill from Alexis Villwok got Bergan within 10-9.
Neumann, however, answered with a 10-2 run to extend its lead to 20-11 on a hitting error by Bergan before closing out the victory with a kill from Lindsey Thiele.
Hannah Thiele added seven kills for the Cavaliers and Caitlin Makovick added six. Alyssa Rezac led Neumann with 21 assists and Jessina Rada had 18.
