Class C-1 #2 North Bend def. Class C-1 #5 Malcolm 25-17, 25-17, 25-23
A balanced attack and a boisterous home-court advantage helped lead North Bend to the sweep of Malcolm.
Sophomore middle Lauren Emanuel led the Tigers with 12 kills and a block while West Virginia recruit Kristin Lux added 11 kills and four ace serves and Midland recruit Brooke Frederickson added 11 kills and a block. Kaitlynn Bjorklund added 37 assists for North Bend.
Creighton recruit Jaela Zimmerman had 19 kills and a block for the Clippers while Brooklyn Minzel added seven kills and three ace serves and Gracey England had 29 assists.
Class A #5 Millard West def. Class A #2 Lincoln Southwest 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 27-25
Ashley Bush had 15 kills and sophomore Gabi Nordaker added 13 for the Wildcats as they become the only team outside of Omaha Marian to defeat Lincoln Southwest this year.
Jaiden Centeno led Millard West with 48 digs while Bree Green added 20 to go with her 24 assists. Sydney Daniels added 23 assists and eight digs for the Wildcats.
Jaden Ferguson led Southwest with 27 kills and also had 18 digs while Hannah Kelle had 10 kills. Rachel Walker finished the night with four kills, 14 digs and 43 assists and Katie Siefkes had 38 digs and seven assists for the Silver Hawks.
Beatrice def. Class B #7 Seward 14-25, 25-17, 25-23
Ally Thavenet had 15 kills and eight digs to lead Beatrice to an upset over Seward. Kacie Heidbrink added seven kills for the Orangemen while Hayley Sexton had 15 digs and Mackenzie Osborne dished out 24 assists.
Rebekah Klenke led Seward with 11 kills while Rylee Opfer had 11 digs and Anna Covalt finished with 17 assists for the Bluejays.
Class C-1 #4 Lincoln Lutheran def. Class B #6 Ralston 25-14, 15-25, 25-21
Mariah Buss had 25 kills to help the Warriors down the Rams. Hope Leimbach had three aces, 11 digs and 32 assists for Lutheran and Erin Williams had a match-best 32 digs.
Class C-2 #2 Stanton def. Wayne 25-12, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17
Jessie Brandl had 22 kills and 24 digs to lead the Mustangs past the Blue Devils. Hannah Heppner added 17 kills for Stanton and Bree Burtwistle had 14 kills, 13 digs and 32 assists. Makenna Espinoza added 23 assists for the Mustangs and Jaiden Hartl had a match-best 30 digs.
Freshman Lauren Pick had eight kills to lead Wayne while Kylie Hammer had 18 digs and Allyson Avery finished with 12 assists.
Class D-2 #6 Giltner def. Class D-1 #3 BDS 16-25, 25-20, 25-18; Class D-1 #4 Blue Hill def. Giltner 25-18, 23-25, 26-24; BDS def. Blue Hill 25-18, 26-24.
A triangular featuring three ranked teams resulted in each team going 1-1.
On the night, Kacey Allen had 19 kills and 32 digs for Blue Hill while Rylee Kohmetscher had 24 kills. Brianna Danehey had 42 digs and Jamie Bonifas finished with 45 assists and nine kills.
For Giltner, Brooke Good had 19 kills and Regan Janzen had 16 kills and 14 digs. Hannah Breissler had 52 assists and 19 digs and Sydney Janzen had 23 digs.
