Auburn def. Class D-2 #2 Mead 25-19, 24-26, 25-20, 25-16
Emma Goering had 12 kills and Theresa Fraray added 11 as Auburn knocked off Mead in the ECNC semifinals. Ashley Teten added four aces and Frary had four solo blocks while Rachel Bohling had a team-high 20 digs and Sydnie Reeves added 32 assists.
Class A #1 Omaha Marian def. Class A #4 Lincoln Pius X 2-0; Class A #5 Papillion-LaVista def. Lincoln Pius X 2-1; Omaha Marian def. Papillion-LaVista 2-0
Top-ranked Marian ran its winning streak to 20 straight with sweeps of both Papio and Pius X. The Crusaders have dropped just one set during its win streak.
In Marian’s win over Pius X, Emily Bressman had 11 kills and seven digs while Sarah Wing added eight kills and Maggie Mullen had seven digs. Lily Heim had 31 assists. In the win over Papio, Bressman had nine kills and 10 digs, Wing added seven kills and four blocks while Mullen had 12 digs and Heim had 22 assists.
Chloe Pascal had 12 kills and 16 digs for the Monarchs in their win over Pius X and Brooklyn Schram added four aces and 30 assists. For Pius X, Delaney Humm had 10 kills and 16 digs while Lindsay Nottleman had 26 digs, Morgan Christiansen added five blocks and Grace Gokie had 27 assists.
In Papio’s loss to Marian, Nora Sis and Paschal each had four kills and Schram had 13 assists.
Class B #5 Gretna def. Class B #7 Norris 19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-16
Gretna bounced back from a loss to Norris over the weekend to beat the Titans in a rematch. Paige Wilkinson had 12 kills and Nyah Chambers added seven for the Titans while Molly Ramsey had 31 digs and Michaela Boon added 32 assists.
Class C-1 #3 Grand Island Central Catholic def. Class B #4 Grand Island Northwest 26-24, 30-28
Megan Woods had 15 kills to go with 10 digs and three blocks to lead the Crusaders past Northwest in a match that was part of a triangular with Holdrege. Kamryn Willman added eight kills and a block for GICC while Kate McFarland added 14 digs and Katie Maser had 33 assists.
For Northwest, Kennedy Hovie had 10 kills and Taryn Mayfield had seven and 16 digs. Whitney Jensen had eight blocks and Taylor Hageman added seven. Sydney Simmons had 13 assists.
St. Paul def. Class C-1 #4 Ord 25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-11
Sophomore Reilly Peetz had 14 kills and Kelli Derison added eight for Ord but it wasn’t enough as St. Paul upset the Chants.
Susie Vavra added three solo blocks for Ord and Ali Smith had 27 digs and Delani Fahey had 44 assists.
Class C-2 #4 Centura def. Doniphan-Trumbull 25-19, 25-16, 25-17
Hastings recruit Emily Krolikowski had 14 kills and Brooklyn Hostetler added eight as Centura swept Doniphan-Trumbull in the Lou Platte semifinals. Amber Baldwin added five ace serves, 31 assists and 11 digs for the Centurions while Sam Simdorn also had 11 digs.
Maddie Fitch led the Cardinals with 10 kills while Logan Poppe had eight and a team-high nine digs. Kalee Wiltfong had 13 assists for Doniphan-Trumbull.
Class A #2 Millard West def. Norfolk 25-10, 25-19, 25-10
On senior night, Millard West senior Ashley Bush went off for 15 kills while hitting .414 to lead the Wildcats past Norfolk. Gabi Nordaker and Hailey Petersen each added six kills while Bree Green had seven aces and 16 assists. Sydney Daniels had 14 assists and Maggie Sempeck had a team-best 17 digs.
Taylor Stoltz led Norfolk with five kills and two blocks while Jordyn Thompson had 12 digs and Anden Baumann had 13 assists.
Class A #3 Lincoln Southwest def. Grand Island 25-15, 25-17, 25-16
Jaden Ferguson had 14 kills and Paige Silverberg added nine as Lincoln Southwest swept Grand Island. Katie Siefkes led the Silver Hawks with 25 digs and Rachel Walker finished the night with 33 assists.
Alexa Blasé had 15 kills to lead Grand Island while Sydney Wald had seven and 10 digs. Haleigh Hoos had 17 digs for the Islanders and Katie Ellis had 24 assists.
Class A #7 Lincoln Southeast def. Lincoln Northeast 25-19, 25-17, 25-21
UMKC recruit Melanie Brecka had 18 kills and three aces while Brittany Wulf added seven kills and eight digs to lead the Knights to a sweep of Lincoln Northeast.
Cecily Liphardt added seven kills for the Knights while Maddie Renn had 16 digs and Evie Barnett had 15. Cassidy Plooster had 33 assists.
Class B #3 Elkhorn South def. Omaha Westside 25-19, 25-18, 25-23
Logan Connelly had 14 kills and freshman Rylee Gray added 11 as the Storm defeated Omaha Westside 3-0.
Riley Newton led Elkhorn South with 18 digs and Emily Bay had 20 assists and Emily Champion added 15.
