A pair of former Nebraska high school standouts were named to the All-Tournament Team at the NAIA National Championships over the weekend.
Papillion-LaVista grad Priscilla O’Dowd, a junior middle, of Midland University and Hastings College senior setter Katie Placke of Grand Island Northwest each earned the honor.
This is actually the third-straight year O’Dowd has earned the honor while it is the second consecutive year for Placke.
O’Dowd finished the year at Midland with 412 kills (3.55 per set) and hit .391 for the season. In Midland’s Round of 16 match in the NAIA National Championships against College of Idaho, O’Dowd finished with 21 kills and hit .452.
Placke finished her year with 344 kills (3.21 per set) while hitting .330 and registering 601 assists. In the Round of 16 match for Hastings against Dordt, Placke finished with 11 kills and 22 assists.
