As difficult as it is for freshmen to make an impact at the varsity level in high school, the club season allows those athletes a place to showcase their talents against each other.
Nebraska Elite’s group of 15s is home to some of the best young players in the state, led by its 151 squad.
Rylee Gray, the 6’3 freshman from Elkhorn South who is one of the top 2021 recruits in the nation, leads the Nebraska Elite 151s. The freshman hit .439 on the season against a mostly Class A schedule and had 308 kills and 79 blocks.
Also at the net for Elite 151s will be Bennington’s Riley Hartman, Gretna’s Avery Kallman, Macy VanFossan of Underwood, Iowa, Millard West’s Molly Jenkins and Skutt Catholic’s Shayla McCormick.
Setting depth is a strength for the team as well with the Skutt Catholic duo of Brilee Wieseler and Allie Gray as well as Peyton Cook of Underwood, Iowa, who can also play a defensive specialist role. At libero is likely to be Omaha Marian’s Ellie Miller.
Players on the Nebraska Elite 152 team are Emma Ehrhardt, Annabella Madsen, Grace Moody, Kayla Petersen, Morgan Sila, Laura Hyde, Avery Marquis, Katie Nelson, Zoe Rus and Bailey Zielie.
