OMAHA – There will be a distinct Nebraska versus Minnesota feel to the championship bracket of the 17/18 Club division in the January Thaw tournament.
The two quarterfinal matches in the six-team tournament features all Nebraska teams while a pair of Northern Lights teams – the 172s and the 161s – will await the winner of those matches in the semifinals.
Nebraska ONE 17 Titanium earned the highest seed among the teams from Nebraska – the #3 spot – after an impressive 25-19, 25-22 win over Nebraska Elite 161 Vici. With the loss, Elite 16 Vici took the #4 seed.
Nebraska ONE 17 Titanium will face Nebraska Elite 172 Razee in its quarterfinal match. Razee is 4-1 in the tournament so far with its only loss coming 25-14,25-19 to top-seeded Northern Lights 172.
Nebraska Elite 16 Vici will face Nebraska ONE 18 Makai in its quarterfinal match. ONE 18 Makai is 5-1 in the tournament with its only loss coming 20-25, 25-20, 15-11 to second-seeded Northern Lights 161.
Club Legacy 16 ROX will be playing in the Silver bracket while Omaha Volleyball Club 17s will be in the Bronze bracket. Performance 17 NIKE and Nebraska ONE 17 Chaos are in the Flight 1 bracket.
