With an overall record of 9-1, Select’s only loss came in the championships match to Madfrog 17 N Blue. Escaping a quarterfinal win over Goldenwest 17 Asics with 15-13 third set win, they had an easier time in the semifinals winning 2-0 over Epic 17 Steve to advance to the final match. A close 25-23 first set loss set up a classic final frame in which Madfrog needed extra time to claim the win 26-24. MN Select 17-1 is represented by the following athletes:

Two Minnesota teams competed in 18 Open and both teams finished in the top 10. M1 181 completed the event tied for 3rd place following a tough three-set semifinal loss to the event’s eventual champion Momentous 18-1 Randy. MN Select 18-1 finished tied for 9th after an opening round loss in the Gold bracket to HURRI18BLK. Select nearly pulled off the win as both sets needed extra points as the scores were 28-26, 26-24.
17 Open
M1 171 lost in the semifinals of the Silver bracket to finish tied for 13th overall. Following a first round three-set win, they were unable to overcome the effort of Club One 17 Black, losing in straight sets 25-21, 25-18.
16 Open
Among the eight teams that advanced to the Gold bracket playoffs, M1 161 dropped their quarterfinal match against Legacy Girls 16 Elite 25-16, 26-24. With the loss they finish the event tied for 5th place with an overall record of 4-4.
