Northern Lights 181 and 182 along with Premier 18 Gold and Nebraska Elite 18 MOAB are the four remaining undefeated teams after the first day of competition at the Asics President’s Day Classic.
In Pool 1, Premier 18 Gold and Northern Lights 181 appear on collision course for their 1 p.m. match on Sunday to determine the pool winner. Neither squad lost a set and both were pretty dominant in going 3-0 on Saturday.
Premier 18 Gold got wins over CIA 18 Silver (25-10, 25-12), Minnesota North 181 (25-20, 25-13) and Kairos Elite 18 Adidas (25-17, 25-20).
Also in Pool 1, Nebraska Juniors 181 went 0-3, losing its final match of the day to Kairos Elite 18 Adidas 25-20, 22-25, 15-8.
Over in Pool 2, Nebraska Elite 18 MOAB rolled to wins over CIA 18 Black (25-14, 25-9) and Kairos Elite 18 Beta (25-14, 25-11) in its two matches on the day. Elite MOAB and Northern Lights 182 meet each other at 10 a.m. on Sunday in a match that could go a long ways in determining the pool winner.
VCNebraska 18 Black went 1-2 on Saturday, getting a hard-fought 18-25, 28-26, 15-13 win over CIA 18 Black.
