This is the fifteenth article in the series The Volleyball Interview, highlighting influential high school Nebraska volleyball players of all ages and levels to get to know them on and off the court on deeper level.
Ashtynne Alberts is a senior at Omaha Marian High School. She hit a solid .286 percent in her career as an outside hitter. Here is my interview with Ashtynne.
What is your favorite part of spring?
“My favorite part of spring is when the warm weather starts to come back and spring clothes shopping.”
What do you want to major in when you go to college?
“I am majoring in Business in college and hoping to go to law school after that.”
Where do you hope to go to college?
“I am going to Clemson University.”
If you could travel anyplace in the world, where would it be and why?
“I would like to go to Spain because I really want to put all my years of Spanish to use and immerse into a culture I’ve been studying for years.”
What is your favorite color?
“My favorite color is blue.”
Where is your favorite place to go to relax or hang out?
“My favorite place to relax is on the beach.”
What is your favorite thing about playing volleyball?
“My favorite thing about volleyball is the girls. I’ve met so many amazing people and friends through the sport. I also like getting to travel and play in new places.”
Do you like the ocean or mountains better?
“Ocean!”
What is your happiest memory?
“My happiest memory is winning state volleyball!”
Who is someone you have always wanted to come watch you play?
“Not sure! But I love when my brother comes home from college and gets to see me play.”
If you could have lunch with any person, living or dead, who would they be?
“I would like to have lunch with Sidney Crosby.”
