SubscribeIt’s officially summer time, and with that, it’s time to send off our 2018 players with the final rankings of their high school careers.
We’ve updated the Class of 2018 rankings now that their senior years of high school – and club volleyball – are over. Each day we will release more rankings until we get to the top five.
For now, here are the players that finished ranked #31-35. Congrats to them all and best of luck in the future! Thanks for all you did to make high school volleyball in Nebraska so amazing!
#31 – Bailey Lukasiewicz, 5’4, Libero, St. Paul (South Central VBC) – committed to Hastings College
Lukasiewicz is a multi-dimensional athlete who was an all-state libero as an underclassman for St. Paul and then moved to an attacker slot her senior year despite her lack of height. She came through to the tune of 194 kills while still flashing the defensive skills that made her a Hastings College recruit with 597 digs. She also finished her senior year with 48 aces to just 29 service errors while serving at a 91% rate.
#32 – Taryn Mayfield, 5’10, OH, Grand Island Northwest
Simply put, Mayfield was one of the most athletic and best full-rotation players in the state for Grand Island Northwest. As a two-year starter in a program where a balanced offensive attack is stressed, Mayfield still put up incredible individual numbers, finishing her time with the Vikings with 674 kills to go along with 877 digs, 158 total blocks and 59 ace serves.
#33 – Madison Evans, 5’4, Libero, Millard North – committed to Bellevue University
For all the attention Millard North gets for all of its offensive weapons, the Mustangs reached the Class A state final two years in a row in large part to the play of Evans as a libero. The Bellevue recruited posted back-to-back 500+ dig seasons in her two years as a starter to finish with 1,061 in her career. She also served at an absolutely unbelievable 98.7% for her career, getting 798 out of 808 career attempts in with 25 aces.
#34 – Eran Rose-Gronewold, 5’4, Libero, Waverly (Nebraska Juniors) – committed to Northwest Missouri State
Want a 5’4 player that can get double-digit kills at the Class B level? Rose-Gronewold can do it (six times in her career, in fact, on her way to 415 total). Want a player good enough to start since her freshman year? Yep, Rose-Gronewold did that. Serve at over 93% with 125 career aces? Rose-Gronewold has that covered. For good measure the Northwest Missouri State commit added 1,524 digs and 1.073 serve receptions in her career.
#35 – Katie Siefkes, 5’5, Libero, Lincoln Southwest
Siefkes was a rockstar in the Southwest back row for three years, the last two as a libero. She finished her career with the Silverhawks with 1,463 digs, 1,619 serve receptions and 125 aces while serving at over 91% for her career.
