We’ve updated the Class of 2018 rankings now that their senior years of high school – and club volleyball – are over. Each day we will release more rankings until we get to the top five.
For now, here are the players that finished ranked #56-60. Congrats to them all and best of luck in the future! Thanks for all you did to make high school volleyball in Nebraska so amazing!
#56 – Madison Renn, 5’3, Libero, Lincoln Southeast (Nebraska ONE) – committed to Missouri-Kansas City
Lincoln Southeast is not only a traditional volleyball power in Nebraska, but it also has a reputation for producing some of the best back-row players in the state and Renn upheld that tradition for the Knights. Renn anchored a defense that helped lead the Knights to the state tournament in 2017 with 631 digs – 6.4 per set – while also handling 353 serve receptions and added 33 ace serves. Her senior club season was cut short when she had ACL surgery in February. She is committed to UMKC.
#57 – Coree Lipovsky, 6’0, MH, Sandy Creek (VCNebraska) – committed to Bellevue University
Lipovsky was a force in the middle all four of her years at Sandy Creek. She finished her career with 795 kills – including 259 as a senior. She also had 210 solo blocks in her four years, highlighted by a career-best 79 in 2017. As a senior she played all the way around and had 292 digs and the Bellevue University recruit also finished her career with 94 ace serves.
#58 – Abby Stutz, 6’3, MH, Lincoln Christian (Nebraska Juniors) – committed to Christian Brothers University
Christian Brothers University – a Division II school in Memphis, TN – is getting a player with perhaps as much potential for improvement as any in the state in Lincoln Christians Abby Stutz. Stutz had just one double-digit kill match in her career for the Crusaders – a 10-kill effort in a 3-1 win over Columbus Scotus last fall – but she was always a defensive presence. She had 78 solo blocks as a senior and finished her career with 220 total blocks.
#59 – Jadyn Stutzman, 5’4, Libero, Grand Island Northwest – committed to Concordia University
If you’re going to play for coach Diane Rouzee at Grand Island Northwest, you’re going to be fundamentally sound and have a high volleyball IQ, which describes Stutzman. As a two-year starter for one of the best volleyball programs in the state, Stutzman averaged 3.9 digs per set for her career and finished with 784 digs and 853 serve receptions for the Vikings. She also served at over 91% for her career and had 49 aces. She will play at Concordia University.
#60 – Faith Simpson, 6’0, MH, Wauneta-Palisade – committed to McCook CC
If you ever saw Simpson play on a court, you walked away impressed. Not only does she just want to beat you, she wants to destroy you. She had 394 kills and 111 solo blocks as a senior at Wauneta-Palisade, that includes a 35 kill, 11 block, nine dig, three ace performance in a 3-2 win over Hitchcock County. On the basketball court her senior year she averaged 21 points, six rebounds, six steals and two blocked shots a game. A truly phenomenal athlete, who will compete at McCook CC.
