We’ve updated the Class of 2018 rankings now that their senior years of high school – and club volleyball – are over. Each day we will release more rankings until we get to the top five.
For now, here are the players that finished ranked #16-20. Congrats to them all and best of luck in the future! Thanks for all you did to make high school volleyball in Nebraska so amazing!
#16 – Kate Bilyeu, 6’0, OH, Omaha Marian (Nebraska Elite) – committed to UMass-Lowell
Bilyeu’s talent as a full-rotation outside hitter goes without question even though she was simply discarded by the Omaha Marian volleyball program her final two years. As s sophomore at Millard North, Bilyeu had a break-out year, accounting for 231 kills, 111 digs and 25 total blocks before transferring to Marian, where she only managed to be put into a match 10 times and got just 27 swings in her final two years. That wasn’t the case at her club – Nebraska Elite – where she continued to thrive and earn her Division I scholarship.
#17 – Emily Krolikowski, 5’11, OH, Centura (South Central VBC) – committed to Hastings College
Sometimes it feels like certain players are at a school forever, and I’m sure it felt that way for opponents of Centura when it comes to Krolikowski. The Hastings College recruit has been tormenting teams with her athleticism and all-around play for four years. Each of the past two years, Krolikowski has had more than 350 kills and 350 digs and she finished her career for Centura with 937 kills on .340 hitting to go with 116 solo blocks, 62 aces while serving at more than 92 percent and 1,055 digs.
#18 – Sami Mauch, 5’10, OH, North Platte (Nebraska Juniors) – committed to Nebraska-Kearney
Mauch has been one of the most efficient and effective attackers in Class A for the past three years for the Bulldogs. As a sophomore she had 178 kills and 250 digs during the Bulldogs’ run to the Class A state championship match. She then took her game to another level, recording more than 300 kills each of the past two years She finished her career with 852 kills and 796 digs.
#19 – Averey Dolliver, 6’0, OH, Lincoln Christian (Nebraska ONE) – committed to Sioux Falls University
Dolliver has been a huge weapon for the Crusaders during her career at Lincoln Christian and has been the go-to option much of the time. The Sioux Falls University recruit finished her career at Lincoln Christian with 1,031 kills, 104 solo blocks, 727 digs and 121 ace serves as she established herself as one of the most consistent full-rotation players in the state.
#20 – Morgan Nibbe, 6’1, MH/OH, Red Cloud – committed to Concordia University
Nibbe has only begun the scratch the surface of her potential and could easily become a dominating force in the GPAC for Concordia. A tremendous all-around athlete and competitor, Nibbe helped lead Red Cloud to the state tournament this past fall with 279 kills, 57 solo blocks and 347 digs while hitting at a .371 mark. In the biggest match of her high school career, Nibbe shined, collecting 25 kills, five digs and two blocks in a five-set loss to Humphrey St. Francis in the state tournament.
