SubscribeORLANDO – The dream of a national championship at the highest level is still alive for Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution despite suffering its first loss of the AAU National Championships on Monday.
After going 4-0 on the first day of competition, Revolution won its first two matches on Monday, defeating Minnesota Select 151 26-24, 25-23 and Wildcat Juniors 15 Black 25-17, 25-19. K@ 15 Adidas then downed Revolution 25-15, 25-21 in a match to determine yesterday’s pool winner. Since the top two teams in the pool advanced, Revolution moved on to the championship round of 20.
In today’s pool, Revolution is matched up with Northern Lights 151, GVA 15U and Dunes 15 Black. In order to advance to the 10-team, single-elimination bracket on Wednesday, Revolution will need to finish in the top two of today’s pool.
Also in 15 Open, VCNebraska 15 Elite went 1-2 in its pool and dropped into consolation play. Nebraska ONE 15 Shockerz went 0-3 on Monday to also drop into consolation play. Nebraska Juniors 151 went 0-3 on Monday in consolation play.
In the 15 Premier Division at the AAU National Championships, both VCNebraska 15 Black and Club Legacy 15 Prism dropped into consolation play after the first day. VCNebraska bounced back by going 2-1 on Monday while Prism went 0-3.
