Adversity Impresses At AAU Championships In Orlando

<p>Florida hosted Wisconsin teams in the sunshine state for the 45^th AAU Girls’ National Volleyball Championship.  The Badger Region had 18 teams in Orlando in the 16’s age divisions.  Here is a recap of how our teams ended up, as well as a special look at Adversity Wisconsin 16-1 with an experienced group that took 15^th out of 136 teams in the Classic Division in Orlando.</p> <p><strong>Adversity Wisconsin 16-1 – 16 Classic Division – 15^th place out of 136 teams<a href="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/adversity-2.jpg"></a></strong></p> <p>Adversity came in as the top seed in their pool and did not disappoint against The Edge 16 Red (25-12, 25-15) and CJVA 15 Onyx (25-19, 25-17).  They dropped just 1 set in the last match of the day against NAVC 16-West Sophie (25-12, 23-25, 15-10) with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="80269" first="Elsa" last="Copes"] </strong>(2020 – 5’8” - Outside Hitter – Cedarburg – Not Committed) leading the way.  Adversity remained undefeated in round 2 against EVC 16 National (25-16, 25-9), Supernova 16 RED (26-24, 25-19), and Tsunami 16 Kyle (25-14, 25-10). </p> <p>Adversity was powered by the attacks of Copes and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="80290" first="Lexi" last="Cross"] </strong>(2020 – 5’10” – Middle Blocker – Sussex Hamilton – Not Committed).  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="80302" first="Mya" last="Verdillo"] </strong>(2020 - 5’0” – Libero – Franklin – Not Committed) kept her team in plays with her relentless defense.  They kept rolling in round 3 beating Upstate 16 Amber/Brandon (25-18, 25-20), Atlanta Extreme 16 Jackie (25-21, 25-14), and Lions South 16-1 (25-15, 25-16).  <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="80301" first="Alli" last="Schwartz"] </strong>(2020 – 5’1” – Setter/Defensive Specialist – Sussex Hamilton) led Adversity with her serving. </p> <p>Cross and <strong>MiKenna Sterr </strong>(2020 – 5’8” – Middle Blocker/Pin Hitter – West Bend East) were key playmakers in round 3.  After going 9-0, they dropped their challenge match to Sports Performance 16 CTE (23-25, 25-22, 8-15).  This loss put them in the Consolation Bracket where they fought hard for wins against Catalyst 16 Green (25-19, 25-22) and Iowa Heart 16 Black (25-22, 23-25, 15-9).  Adversity lost in the championship match of the Consolation Bracket to Illini Elite 16 White (14-25, 25-14, 10-15).        </p> <p><strong>MiKenna Sterr – </strong>2020 – 5’8” – Middle Blocker/Pin Hitter – West Bend East</p> <p><strong>Veronica Sadownikow </strong>– 2020 – Defensive Specialist – West Bend East</p> <p><strong>Zoie Leitel </strong>– 2020 – Middle Blocker/Pin Hitter – Germantown</p> <p><strong>Isabel Sadownikow – </strong>2020 -
