<p>USAV Nationals ended on the Fourth of July in Detroit, Michigan, officially marking the end of the 2018 club volleyball season. Iowa club teams who made the trip had a phenomenal showing at the tournament in the 16’s and 17’s divisions.</p>
<p>Competition took place in the Cobo Center with five divisions per age group: Open, National, USA, American, and Patriot (listed from highest to lowest division). The 18’s division completed their national tournament earlier this spring, April 27-29, in Anaheim, California.</p>
<p><u>16 Patriot</u></p>
<p>A total of 61 teams competed to bring home gold in the 16 Patriot division. <strong>Precision One 16N</strong> from Iowa finished 49<sup>th</sup> with a 2-8 record.</p>

<p><u>16 American</u></p>
<p><strong>CIA 16 Black</strong> took 21<sup>st</sup> out of 64 teams in the 16 American division, finishing with an overall 5-4 tournament record.</p>

<p><u>16 National</u></p>

<p>An all-Iowa championship took place in the 16 National division as the <strong>Six Pack 16’s</strong> came out victorious in the tournament, taking the championship out of 45 teams with a 9-2 record. The team, featuring 2020 MB Dayton commit, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="17093" first="Alayna" last="Yates"]</strong>, defeated fellow Iowa team, <strong>Iowa Rockets 16R</strong> in two-sets for the championship, a rematch of third day pool play match-up where Iowa Rockets won in two. Iowa Rockets 16R, who went 10-1 on the tournament, features several 2020 and 2021 college commits: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="78321" first="Sommer" last="Daniel"]</strong> 2020 Setter – Utah, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="41237" first="Sydney" last="Dennis"]</strong> 2021 Libero – Iowa, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40763" first="Claire" last="Overton"]</strong> 2020 OH/MB – Tampa (beach volleyball), and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="78323" first="Delaney" last="Rice"]</strong> 2020 MB/RS – St. Louis.</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="17093" first="Alayna" last="Yates"] and [player_tooltip player_id="40909" first="Jaz" last="Westmoreland"] of Six Pack made the All-Tournament team with [player_tooltip player_id="17097" first="Jada" last="Wills"] named MVP of the tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="40886" first="Akacia" last="Brown"], [player_tooltip player_id="78321" first="Sommer" last="Daniel"], and [player_tooltip player_id="78404" first="Kelsey" last="Law"] of Iowa Rockets were also named to the 16 National All-Tournament Team.</p>

<p>Of the 47 competing teams, <strong>Iowa Rockets 171</strong> finished 25<sup>th</sup> with a 5-5 record. The team features 2019 Southern Indiana commitment, setter <strong>Isabella Mitchell</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Six Pack 17’s</strong> competed in the 17 American division for a 13<sup>th</sup> place finish and 7-3 record. Six Pack 17’s features several college commits including <strong>Cailyn Morgan</strong> 2019 OH – UNI (basketball), <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40775" first="Jaima" last="Tonne"]</strong> 2019 S/RS – Upper Iowa, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="78322" first="Rylee" last="Fay"]</strong> 2020 S/OH – Missouri State, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="16972" first="Kate" last="Shannon"]</strong> 2019 DS – Iowa State, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40783" first="Kylie" last="Willis"]</strong> 2019 MB – Upper Iowa, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40843" first="Jess" last="Jacobs"]</strong> 2019 MB – William Jewell.</p>

<p><strong>CIA 17 Black</strong> competed in the 17 USA division and finished 11<sup>th</sup> overall out of 35 teams. With a 4-6 record, the team features the following 2019 commits: OH <strong>MaKayla Geise</strong> – Valparaiso, RS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40758" first="Delaney" last="McSweeney"]</strong> – Wake Forest, and MB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40744" first="Kaylissa" last="Arndorfer"]</strong> – Northern Iowa.</p>

<p><strong>Flight 17U</strong>, featuring 2019 Winona State commitment, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40782" first="Mikenna" last="Joerger"]</strong>, also competed in 17 USA and finished 19<sup>th</sup> with a 4-5 tournament record.</p>

<p>Of the 45 teams who competed in the 17 N<a href="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/IMG_4092.jpg"></a>ational division, Iowa teams took two spots on the podium for second and third place. <strong>Adrenaline 17 Rox</strong> made club history by being the first team to come home with national tournament medal, taking silver with a 8-3 record. The second place team features Northern Iowa commit, DS <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40754" first="Kaylee" last="Donner"]</strong>, and Iowa commit, MB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="40757" first="Grace" last="Tubbs"]</strong>.</p>
