With a whole summer of club nationals, camps, showcases, and the first week of preseason underway in the state of Wisconsin it is time to have the “FINAL” preseason rankings for Division 1 and 2. Division 3 and 4 will have rankings after the first weekend after watching plenty of the top D3 and D4 teams at the Menomonie Sprawl this upcoming weekend.

Division 1

1. Burlington

The defending champions have lost some offensive firepower, but their defense will be so solid, not to mention one of the top setters in the state in Kaley Blake distribute to plenty of offensive weapons

2. Arrowhead

Aubrey Hamilton and Elise Schneider are two physical and athletic Division 1 recruits that have plenty of depth they will need to depend on to break through to the Resch.

3. Waunakee

Last year Waunakee made it to the state tournament, but they will be looking for more. Kiana Schmitt is heading to Creighton and outside hitter Milla Malik is going to Buffalo, but libero Sarah Malone brings her Senior leadership that saves a ton of points.

4. River Falls

The secret is out, River Falls is a force to be reckon with behind Emily Bannit, Halle Olson, and Anna Wolf.

5. Waukesha West

What a summer winning the Prep Dig Summer League at Milwaukee Sting and the preseason Slam at the Dells. West has weapons in all positions and a solid crew of Sophomores.

6. Mukwonago

Lots of fire power behind pins Alayna Jansky and Erin Powers, but the Indians have the experience and weapons to make another run to state.

7. Westosha Central

A solid Senior class with Division 1 caliber athletes, plenty of experience, this team has a lot of potential to make some upsets along the way.

8. Sheboygan North

The last go around for Dru Kuck, Kasey Bell, and Annie Hopp who have been starting every year for the Golden Raiders. North also has one of the top Sophomores in Lizzie Binder.

9. Oconomowoc

Ocon has a few question marks heading into this season, but lack of talent is not one of them. Tayler Alden is back along with Elle Schult to lead the way.

10. Neenah

Addison Barnes and Kayla Kraus were starters on the 2016 state championship team, will they be able to make another run in 2018?

Notables:

Germantown

Greendale

Kettle Moraine

Appleton North

Kimberly

Sussex Hamilton

Division 2

1. Catholic Memorial

The Crusaders took a year off of winning a state title, but will have plenty of balance led by Portland State recruit, Caroline Dragani.

2. Wisconsin Lutheran

Balance all around. Carissa Sundholm and Julia Treichel on the pin as well as a strong Senior class will be key for Wisco.

3. East Troy

Briana Scuric and Katie Winkler are two strong, physical hitters for East Troy that will be trying to get back to state since 2015.

4. Kettle Moraine Lutheran

Ari Miller has been on fire this summer and the Chargers have had strong showings at the Badger Team Camp and the Prep Dig Summer League.

5. Mount Horeb

Elise Goetzinger, a Kentucky recruit will be the go to player for Mount Horeb who fell just short of making the state tournament in 2017.

6. Luxemburg-Casco

The Spartans lost some strong athletes due to graduation, but still have a good core of athletes returning, one being Green Bay basketball recruit Cassie Schlitz.

7. Little Chute

Little Chute is in the same conference as Luxemburg-Casco and could meet up in the Sectional Tournament. Hannah Vanden Berg, a Marquette recruit, will be a heavy go to player for the Mustangs.

8. Ellsworth

MacKenzie Kummer, a Division 1 middle heading to Air Force will be the go to hitter for Ellsworth out of Western Wisconsin.

9. Madison Edgewood

Ella Foti and Natalie Ring may be young, but will provide a ton of talent for Edgewood this fall.

10. Chilton
