<p>A full slate of matches took place on Thursday 9/13, many going the distance as teams begin to settle in to some rhythm as the season is now of few weeks old. The following represent some of the best individual performances on the night.</p>
<p><strong>Allison Marso MH | Battle Lake | 2019<br />
</strong>Battle Lake pulled off the 3-2 win over Hillcrest Lutheran behind the 25 kills and 5 blocks of Marso. Set scores were 25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-27, 15-8 in favor of the Battlers. Marso is a returning Little Eight Conference 1<sup>st</sup> team selection from 2017.</p>
<p><strong>Ally Gruber 5’10 OH | Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa | 2019</strong><br />
Gruber had a big night in helping BBE defeat Paynesville 25-10, 25-17, 18-25, 25-16. Gruber, a Central Minnesota Conference 1<sup>st</sup> team selection from 2017, led the Jaguars with 17 kills, 10 digs and three service aces. BBE is 8-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.</p>
<p><strong>Katherine Knudson OH | Montevideo | 2019</strong><br />
With 37 digs in a 3-1 win, Knudson averaged 9.25 digs per set in the Montevideo victory over West Central Conference foe ACGC. Montevideo improves to 1-6 in conference play.</p>
<p><strong>Sam Pogatchnik 5’9 RS | Proctor | 2020</strong> and <strong>Payton Rodberg OH | Proctor | 2022</strong><br />
A 2017 Lake Superior all-conference 2<sup>nd</sup> team selection, Pogatchnik delivered a big night in helping Proctor defeat Duluth Marshall 25-22, 24-26, 25-17, 25-21. The 3-1 win included a balanced effort led by Pogatchnik’s 21 kills, 16 assists, and seven blocks. Rodberg, just a freshman, contributed 19 kills and 10 blocks. Proctor improves to 5-3 overall.</p>
<p><strong>Cara Steede 6’1 OH | Duluth Marshall | 2019</strong><br />
Although Marshall came up short in what was a competitive match with Proctor, Steede displayed her physical prowess in producing 23 kills in the losing effort for a 5.75 kills per set average.</p>
<p><strong>Alyssa Fenstad-Lashinski MH | Cook County | 2019</strong><br />
In the Polar League Conference match, South Ridge defeated Cook County by set scores of 25-19, 25-22, 25-22. Fenstad-Lashinski led the match in both kills and digs with 14 and 17 respectively for the double-double.</p>
<p><strong>Jordyn Maas 5'4 S | Duluth Denfield | 2019</strong> and <strong>Caitlin Schneeweis 6'0 OH | Duluth Denfield | 2019</strong><br />
The senior duo of Maas and Schneeweis led Denfield to a key victory over fellow Lake Superior Conference foe Superior. The battle among these two highly touted teams ended with the come from behind 23-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-23 win for Denfield. Maas tallied 38 set assists and Schneeweis added 16 kills for the visiting Hunters.
