This week was exciting and it’s so much fun to see the battles happening around the state. Prep Dig has been having a blast hearing from our followers on Twitter and Facebook and sharing your successes. Let’s take a quick look at what has happened in Week 3 (September 3rd-September 8th) of the high school season.

Taylor Langmeier – 2019 – 5’9 – Middle Blocker/Defensive Specialist/Outside Hitter – River Ridge – Not Committed

Langmeier led River Ridge to wins over Cassville and Shullsburg by hitting a .564 this week, making only 3 errors out of 55 attempts while tallying 34 kills. Week 3 was definitely Langmeier’s week for being efficient and productive!

[player_tooltip player_id="33058" first="Rachel" last="Aasby"] – 2019 – 5’10 - Outside Hitter – Oshkosh Lourdes Academy – Not Committed

Lourdes didn’t drop a set in either of their matches this week. Aasby recorded 19 kills in those 2 matches and has already passed the 1,000 kill mark. At this rate Aasby will have a record season in kills.

[player_tooltip player_id="33039" first="Katie" last="Mattson"] – 2019 – 5’9 - Outside Hitter – Luck – Not Committed

Mattson is on course to make this senior campaign memorable. While Luck lost 3-1 to Grantsburg (Prep Dig D3 Ranked #9), it wasn’t due to a lack of effort by Mattson, as she tallied 22 kills, 3 blocks and 19 digs. She is currently averaging over 5 kills per set and shows no sign of slowing down.

Rebekah Day – 2020 – 5’7 – Setter – Luxemburg-Casco – Not Committed

Luxemburg-Casco had a pretty nice week 3 going 4-2, and Day plays a big part in doing that with running a 5-1 for the Spartans. This week alone Day tallied 148 assists, with a career high of 39 in their win over Fox Valley Lutheran. She has been working at a blistering pace of averaging over 9 assists per set this week and is currently 2nd in the state for total number of assists.

Taylor Salmon – 2019 – Setter – Janesville Craig – Not Committed

Salmon runs a 5-1 for Craig and is a big reason for the Cougars 15-2 start to their season. Craig went 2-0 this week without dropping a set, and Salmon had a career high 33 assists in their win over Parker. I don’t think this will be the last we hear of her since she is currently averaging 10 assists per set.

Jadyn Powell – 2019 – Libero/Defensive Specialist – Bradford – Not Committed

Powell has lead Bradford (14-8) in a big way this week. Every play begins behind the service line, and when Powell is back there, she has been lethal. Bradford went 5-1 while Powell recorded 20 aces this week. She has a history of being a strong server, but she has found a new level this season while tallying a career high 7 aces in their win over Watertown in tournament play this past weekend.

Josie Bacholl – 2019 – Setter – Prentice – Not Committed

Prentice (14-4) took out their conference opponent, Athens, this week. Bacholl has been a driving force at the service line averaging over an ace per set. She runs a 5-1 for the Buccaneers and currently leads her team with 178 assists and 37 aces.

Abbey Falk – 2020 –5’10 - Middle Blocker – Milton – Not Committed

Falk has control of the Red Hawk’s net with 67 total blocks so far this season. Milton (17-4) went 4-0 this week, and Falk matched her career high of 7 blocks in their win over Monona Grove. In Falk’s first season on varsity, she has recorded 7 blocks in a match 4 times. Don’t try to attack in her airspace!

Madilyn Danza – 2020 – 5’11 – Middle Blocker – Campbellsport – Not Committed

Campbellsport (5-8) struggled this week going 2-4. Danza, however, was a blocking machine with 22 blocks this week (averaging over 3 blocks per match) and making her way closer to the top of the blocking leaderboard with 50 total blocks so far this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="32725" first="Dru" last="Kuck"] – 2019 – 5’6 – Libero – Sheboygan North – Committed to Wisconsin

Kuck and the Golden Raiders were on FIRE this week! North (15-4) went on a scorching 8-0 run this week, while Kuck racked up 116 digs and is on pace to have a record year.

[player_tooltip player_id="33155" first="Hannah" last="Hughes"] – 2019 – Defensive Specialist/Libero – Superior – Not Committed

Superior (13-3) went 5-0 this week, and Hughes has been running the defense in the effort. She tallied 89 digs and has been averaging almost 8 digs per set, for a grand total of 299 digs so far. Hughes also leads Superior with 28 aces.
