A total of 11 teams from U18 to U12 will compete in 2019, including two teams at the U18 level and four teams at the U16 level. Here is a breakdown of the top teams at both of those age groups.
SMV 18-1 Black
This team will once again feature some of the best talent led by a very strong core of attackers. Kaitlyn Prondzinski Kaitlyn Prondzinski 5'11" | MB Stewartville | 2020 State MN , an Illinois State commit and junior at Stewartville High School is a very athletic six-rotation athlete that can score points in a variety of ways. With great elevation and range she can bring heat, terminate off hands, or bring the finesse. She is balanced by Rachel Fink Rachel Fink 5'9" | LI Rochester Century | 2019 State MN , another dynamic high flyer with terrific arm speed. She is a Southwest MN State commit and has the ability to contribute in every rotation. Fellow Rochester Century High School teammate, Rachel Lund, will be a big factor in the middle and on the right side. She can get on attackers with her arm offensively as well as in setting a great block. She is also an Illinois State commit.
The uncommitted members of this team are led by Emilee Terry (OH/MB | 2020 | Kasson-Mantorville). A versatile and athletic athlete, she has great competitive experience behind her and will be a great addition to a program at the next level. She is a Hiawatha Valley all-conference selection for 2018. Fellow all-conference selections include Bailey Berge Bailey Berge 5'4" | Libero Kasson-Mantorville | 2019 State MN (Lib | 2019 | Kasson-Mantorville) and Caroline Braun (OH | 2019 | Kasson-Mantorville). The setters for this team are Kelly Klees Kelly Klees 5'10" | S Rochester Mayo | 2020 State MN (S | 2020 | Rochester Mayo) and Mina Wimmer (S/DS | 2019 | Rochester Century), both Big 9 all-conference selections. Rounding out the roster and uncommitted prospects are Emma Goss Emma Goss 5'11" | MB Rochester Mayo | 2020 State MN (RS/MB | 2020 | Rochester Mayo), Eden Mueller (OH/RS | 2021 | John Marshall), and Morgan LaVigne (RS/MB | 2020 | Wabasha-Kellogg), a Three Rivers all-conference selection.
SMV 16-1 Black
Several athletes landed on this roster that provided key contributions to their respective high school varsity programs in 2018. A trio of Hiawatha Valley honorable mention selections will provide a lot of offense for this team. Jolie Stecher Jolie Stecher 6'0" | MB Stewartville | 2021 State MN (OH/MH | 2021 | Stewartville) is a versatile and athletic individual with a nice arm and good presence defensively. Mya Seuss (MH | 2021 | Kasson-Mantorville) gained some quality experience during the high school season and should provide great leadership for this squad. Olivia Pennington Olivia Pennington 6'0" | OH Lake City | 2021 State MN (OH/RS | 2021 | Lake City) should also score points and capitalize on her experience helping her high school team advance to the Section 1 AA finals. Two solid setters will lead the offense as Chayse Paulson (S | 2021 | John Marshall) earned Big 9 all-conference honors as the freshman surprise in Maddie Converse Maddie Converse 5'10" | S Kasson-Mantorville | 2022 State MN (S | 2022 | Kasson-Mantorville) led the KoMets to a #1 ranking for most of the season and a spot in the class AA state tournament. Rounding out the roster are uncommitted athletes in outside hitters Addy Bzoskie Addy Bzoskie 5'7" | OH Kasson-Mantorville | 2022 State MN (OH/DS | 2022 | Kasson-Mantorville) and Lauren Klees (L/OH | 2022 | Rochester Mayo) as well as pin/middle dual-threats Hannah LaBonte (OH/MH | 2021 | Lake City), Chloe Staub (RS/MH | 2021 | Triton), and Three Rivers honorable mention selection Ella Miller (OH/MH | 2021 | Lewiston Altura).
