18 ELITE
Celia CullenA stacked squad that featured five players that reached Battle Creek in the 2018 prep season, this team doesn’t look to have a weak spot. Ricky and Jennifer Cottrill will coach this team that includes a pair of 17’s moving up to join the squad. 2020 setter Celia Cullen (Michigan State) was part of this very squad at the end of last club year and will return to feed a number of big hitters. Jessica Mruzik (Michigan) is the other 17’s player to join the squad. She moves up a year early after an impressive 2018 year that saw her earn All-State honors for Farmington Hills Mercy and MVP honors at the NORCECA U18 Championships as part of Team USA in Honduras. Paige Briggs (Western Kentucky) makes the move to Legacy this year and will join Mruzik as one of the team’s outside hitter. Briggs is coming off an absolutely dominant two-match performance at Battle Creek while leading Lake Orion to the Division 1 state title. In the middle, ELITE 18 will have Jessica Robinson (Michigan) and Desiree Becker (Northwestern), a pair of Miss Volleyball finalists to work with. If that wasn’t enough, the team also has outside Allyson Severance (Miami-Ohio) and setter Madison Dowd, two more Miss Volleyball finalists, on the roster. The defense will be led by Hannah Grant (Michigan State), who also played up with this squad a year ago. DS Ciara Livingway, outside Morgan Verheyen (Buffalo) and middle Taylor Venuto (Loyola-Chicago) round out the loaded roster and will play key roles as well.
17 ELITE
Kendall Murray and Alexa RousseauBryan Lindstrom coaches this team that was top-10 nationally at 16’s in 2018. While Mruzik won’t be with them, the team did add middle blocker Ellie Ruprich (South Carolina) and DS Bella Hommes (Eastern Michigan) to the roster. This squad isn’t lacking in hitting talent, as they have outsides Christine Audette, Kate Stration (Cornell), Kendall Murray (Michigan) and Lila Splavec. In the middle, Legacy has Lauren King (VCU) and Meghan Dombrowski (West Virginia) to join Ruprich. All will be fed by Alexa Rousseau (Northwestern), a 6-foot-3, left-handed setter that is among the best in the country. Defensively, Hommes will be aided by Kayla Shields and Kennedy Dolmage (Oakland).
16 ELITE
Grace AllreadThis squad is coached by the pair of Lauren Duquette and John Kalugar. It features some Legacy regulars and new additions from a promising 15’s team in 2018. Some of the stars of the future in the state, 16 ELITE will have talented 2021 setter Grace Allread leading the team. The West Bloomfield product will be able to feed it to a number of strong hitters. On the outside, 16 ELITE has Milan Lee, Sydney Palazzolo, Claire Nowicki and Jenna Boksha. In the middle, Reagan Goeke, Alana Watlington and Madison Grace are all solid hitting and blocking options for the team. Hannah Blaney and Lara Sebastian will be the primary defensive leaders for the team.
15 ELITE
Ally BorellisEric Lindstrom will coach this squad, which landed third in the 14 Open at AAU Nationals in 2018 and had a pair of All-American selections in Ally Borellis in the middle and Tatum Casper on the outside. Both return to lead this 15 ELITE team. Setter Karlee Stoll will have plenty of hitters to feed. Along with Borellis and Caster, 15 ELITE has Ella Schrist, Sydney Tomlak, Bianca Giglio and Audrey Brown on the outside. Cari Bohm, a 6-4 middle, joins Borellis up front as well. Leading the back row will be Josie Bloom and Livvy Setla. Bloom, like Borellis, saw a lot of time on the court for Notre Dame Prep this fall as they made a run to the Division 2 state championship match.
14 ELITE
Sarah Lindstrom will coach this team of future prep stars in the state of Michigan. As 13’s, this unit finishes third in the 13 Open of AAU Nationals. Outside hitter Harper Murray and setter Paige Elliott were both Open All-Americans last summer and return to lead this unit in 2019. Joining Murray on the outside will be Paige Giehtbrock, Nina Horning and Rebecca Apsey. In the middle, 14 ELITE has Abby Reck and Laurece Abraham. Along with Elliott, Erin Kline is a setting option for the team and Allison Berent and Kijsa Gifford will handle the back row.
