This series of posts will break down the list into specific groups with focus upon a few athletes that have landed among that portion of the rankings. As many of these athletes are slated to compete for some of the best clubs that Minnesota has to offer, we can bet that their stock will continue to rise. Here are a few athletes from Prep Dig’s class of 2020 rankings rated within 101-125:
Lauren Aus – 6’1 | MH/RS | Shakopee | Northern Lights | Prep Dig #101
Effective in the middle both in front and behind the setter off of one foot; Good movement patterns and works well to get off the net to be available offensively in transition; Good vision and patience as a blocker allows her to set an effective block for the defense behind her.
Dani Friedges – 5’11 | RS/S | New Prague | Northern Lights | Prep Dig #102
2018 Wright County East all-conference selection; Good versatility as a setter and right side attacker; Can generate some heat off a good fundamental arm swing.
Molly Perzichilli – 5’9 | OH | Centennial | MN Select | Prep Dig #107
Good all-around team contributor as a six-rotation athlete; Has good platform skills to create angles both defensively and in serve receive to get her team in system; Has a good arm an can swing for power or off speed; A high school co-captain, helped lead her team to a Section 4AAA semifinal appearance.
Arie Walker – 5’9 | S | St. Paul Academy | Northern Lights | Prep Dig #125
Competes with simple movement getting to her position quickly so she can pursue the ball on balance and with a consistent high contact point; Has good footwork in tracking balls dug or passed off the net; Distributes to the pins through a moderate tempo and good location; Gets her middles involved effectively across multiple locations.
