Teams played across the state from UW-Parkside to the Wisconsin Dells. With over 30 17s and 18s teams from every corner of Wisconsin competing, this league is strong and competitive. Here are some teams that had massive success in the first weekend of Badger Power League:
Capital 18 Adidas
With a powerhouse roster like this team has, it is no surprise they came out of the first weekend at Badger Region Power League undefeated. Their entire roster stacked with phenomenal athletes. Some of their standout players are middle blocker, Kiana Schmitt (Prep Dig Rank #1, Committed to Creighton University), Matison Jakscht (Prep Ding Rank #91, Committed to UW-Milwaukee), Ashley East (Prep Dig Rank #50), Bailey Neuberger (Prep Dig Rank #27, Committed to Southern Illinois University), and Sopheea Mink (Prep Dig Rank #14, Committed to High Point University).
FC Elite 17 Navy
If you haven’t seen this team play, you have to. They are fun to watch and have great chemistry on the court. Libero Katherine Walch (Prep Dig Rank #24, Uncommitted) is controlled yet manages to get a touch on everything that crosses the net. Setters Kalli Mau (Prep Dig Rank #37, Uncommitted) and Rachael Bohlman (Prep Dig Rank #52, Uncommitted) run their offense smoothly and rarely make mistakes.
Midwest Penguins 18 Black
The core of this Penguins team has been together since they were in middle school, and it shows. They trust each other and have a ton of fun when they play. On top of that, they are a group of extremely talented athletes. Anna Rossner (Committed to UW-Lacrosse) is a dynamic middle with a lot of speed. Outside hitters Hannah Siebert and Sophia Clinton-Ragonese, both uncommitted, have a lot of power behind their swings and are able to place balls well.
Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold
This insanely talented team did not drop a single set over the course of their six matches. Four of their players are in the Prep Dig top 5 ranking spots: Kiara Reinhardt (Prep Dig Rank #2, Committed to Creighton), Aubrey Hamilton (Prep Dig Rank #3, Committed to Notre Dame), Kaley Blake (Prep Dig Rank #4, Committed to UW-Milwaukee), and Elise Goetzinger (Prep Dig Rank #5, Committed to Kentucky). Libero Caitlin Crawford (Prep Dig Rank #14, Committed to South Carolina) made a huge impact throughout the State Tournament and continues to do so on this extremely talented team. Outside hitter Julia Treichel (Prep Dig Rank #15, Uncommitted) is an amazing outside hitter with power, control, and just a great read of the court.
Motion Volleyball 18 Blue
The offensive power this team has is insane. Between Anna Nerad (Prep Dig Rank #25, Committed to UW Milwaukee), Hannah Brown (Prep Dig Rank #38, Committed to Bellarmine), and a slew of other talented hitters, this team will go far throughout the Badger Power League.
The first weekend of Badger Power League was a good one, with two more full weekends of volleyball to go. As the league continues, teams will shift around and there will be some truly awesome volleyball to come!
