Despite the cold weather, the Hawaiian Luau theme will cause excitement all across the metro area. With 31 separate locations Here are the locations to catch the top players this coming weekend:
18’s Gold:
To see the biggest, brightest players who are likely going on to play on at some of the biggest collleges, head to Macalaster College. The 18’s will start the competition here. The gym will be filled with 6’0 plus players like: Jincey Nysted (6’2”-Crossfire), Chudear Tut (6’2”- Club 43), Peyton Morell (6’- Kokoro 18-2).
Some of the top teams include Vital 18-1 Gold, KEVC 18-1, SMV 18-1, Kokoro 18-1, and MN North. Teams will need to finish first or second in most cases, to have a chance at taking first!
17’s Gold:
This group will be an interesting one, as many large tournaments don’t always include a 17’s Division. Teams will start at M1’s Training Faciluty and then on to Shakopee. The top seeded teams include: WI Juniors 17-1, Kokoro 17-1, Synergy 17 Navy.
Underdogs with sure to put up a good fight: Stewie 17 Blue and Summit 17 Elite and MN North 17-1.
16 Gold:
This group will showcase many of the up and coming stars for the 2019 high school season. However, don’t expect to see players with their given high school team’s club. So many players improve in the club season by playing for other coaches and with other premier players. And we are sure glad they do-creating super teams.
They will start the weekend at MN Select’s location. The top teams will stay there, and 3rd and 4th place will head over to Columbia Heights and Elk River.
Predictions for top 5: V-Hawk Adidas, Crossfire 16-1, M1, SMV 16-1.
This doesn’t even scratch the surface of all the gyms in the metro that will be hosting the best young athletes in the area. Tag your team and post where your team will be playing this weekend!
