Next up is Ankeny’s Taylor Richards. Richards, a 5’9 senior OH, was an honorable mention All-Conference performer this season. She helped the State Qualifying Hawkette’s with 228 kills, 290 digs, 30 blocks, and 42 aces. Taylor has narrowed down her choices and will continue her playing and academic career next season in college, majoring in elementary education with an endorsement in special education. She is playing for CIS 18M this season.
Q) What do you most look forward to in 2019?
A) “I look forward to trying new things, having fun with new teammates and improving.”
Q) What is your most favorite thing about the club volleyball season?
A) “I get to make new friends and get better at playing in different positions. I also love traveling and bonding with my team in the hotels.”
Q) Who or what would you most contribute your volleyball success to?
A) “Every coach past and present and all my teammates have contributed the most. However, my mom is the biggest contributor not only because she drags me everywhere but she’s also standing behind me as I am typing this.”
Q) Favorite way to waste time and why?
A) “Making crafts with friends and video editing. I enjoy being creative. I also like to sing to strangers while driving.”
Q) Best team bonding tradition you’ve experienced?
A) “Every year for school we went to a pumpkin patch to jump into the corn pool and eat pizza.”
