Prep Dig’s second-ranked ’24 prospect in the state, Dean did not disappoint. I hadn’t watched the Kansas recruit in person since last year’s state tournament. She’s developed her game and become a strong six-rotation player. She piled up 13 digs in this match to go with her match-high 17 kills. No doubt her swing is big time, but she’s more than a tall girl. She’s agile, athletic and skilled.

Dean dominates as a powerful two-way player. She’s one of the state’s top hitters and denies opponents’ attempts on defense. She’s helped by her height and length but brings athleticism to the table as well. She understands the game and how to maximize her talent. I think the best is yet to come for Dean.
