The Badger Region Power League’s second weekend of play happened this weekend and it was a good one. There are no undefeated teams in the 18 Elite. Needless to say, there has been some great volleyball occurring at every level. Here is your recap of the teams who have been successful during the first two weekends of the power league in the 18 Elite division.

Capital 18 Adidas - Tournament Record 10-2

This is an extremely talented team, so it is no surprise that they are having massive success at the BRPL. Middle blocker Kiana Schmitt (Prep Dig Rank #1, Committed to Creighton) is nearly unstoppable on offense and defense. Seven of the eleven athletes on their roster are committed, most to Division I schools. Caroline Craig, a junior, also plays on the team. Ashley East (Prep Dig Rank #50, Uncommitted), a 6’ setter and right side is a huge asset to this already strong team. The same goes for libero Sarah Malone (Prep Dig Rank #52, Uncommitted) who defends the back row fearlessly and sets her team's strong offense up for great success.

FC Elite 17 Navy - Tournament Record 10-2

I can’t wait to see where the athletes on this FC Elite team end up in college. From setter Rachael Bohlman (Prep Dig Rank #52, Uncommitted), one of the most talented leaders in her class, to libero Katherine Walch (Prep Dig Rank #24, Uncommitted) who is fast yet controlled, this team has some great talent. Middle hitter Emma Wollert (Uncommitted) is nearly impenetrable at the net and pin hitter/defensive specialist Myka Roethel is only a freshman yet plays at this high level. Outside hitters Emma Oelhafen (Prep Dig Rank #61, Uncommitted), Katie DiRaimondo (Prep Dig Rank #26, Uncommitted), and Emily Bruckschen (Prep Dig Rank #41, Uncommitted) are each powerful and have a great understanding of the court and where to put the ball.

Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold - Tournament Record 11-1

This Sting is one of the best all-around talented teams in the country right now. With middle hitters Elise Goetzinger (Prep Dig Rank #5, Committed to Kentucky) and Kiara Reinhardt (Prep Dig Rank #2, Committed to Creighton) who are fast and powerful, libero/defensive specialists Erin Powers (Prep Dig Rank #16, Uncommitted) and Caitlin Crawford (Prep Dig Rank #14, Committed to South Carolina), who never let a ball get past them, and setters Kaley Blake (Prep Dig Rank #4, Committed to UW-Milwaukee) and Alyse Drifka (Prep Dig Rank #35, Committed to SIUE) orchestrating the offense, this team is nearly unstoppable. Add in outside hitters Aubrey Hamilton (Prep Dig Rank #3, Committed to Notre Dame), Sarah Schrader (Prep Dig Rank #20, Committed to UW-Milwaukee), and Julia Treichel (Prep Dig Rank #15, Uncommitted), and you have a near perfect roster. Rightsides Elise Schneider (Prep Dig Rank #10, Committed to Wofford) and Kelsey Carrington (Prep Dig Rank #27, Uncommitted) round out this team and provide power and consistency on the right side.

Milwaukee Sting 18 Silver - Tournament Record 9-3

This is a strong team in its own respect. This team has a lot of chemistry and talent that has resulted in them having a lot of success. Defensively, they are very strong. Toria Schein (Uncommitted) and Hannah Monfre (Committed to St. Francis, Ill) are each great passers who are leaders in the back row. Grace Peyron (Prep Dig Rank #59, Uncommitted) is a right side who has a massive impact every time she is on the court. Nicole Martin (Prep Dig Rank #74, Committed to Kentucky Wesleyan) and Maddy Harris (Uncommitted) are outside pin hitters that are powerful and smart, a great combination for any offensive player.

Motion Volleyball 18 Blue - Tournament Record 9-3

This is another team with a lot of chemistry. Their leaders are definitely their setters (who also play right side). Rachel Roberts is a great athlete who is a leader on her team. The other right side/setter Jessica Connell who moves the ball fast creating a quick offense. Their front row is aided by the extremely talented Anna Nerad (Prep Dig Rank #25, Committed to South Dakota State). This is a fun team to watch, they have a lot of grit.

Wisconsin Juniors 17-1 - Tournament Record 9-3

This is a very well rounded team. Their outside hitters, Olivia Dir (Prep Dig Rank #13, Uncommitted) and Madeline Haines (Prep Dig Rank #30, Committed to IUPUI) are both extremely talented with a lot of potential to go far in volleyball. Setter Karlee Lois (Prep Dig Rank #18, Uncommitted) runs the court well and is a great leader on the court. Libero Amber Bischel (Prep Dig Rank #23, Uncommitted) is very controlled and sets her teams offense up for success. Middle blocker Karina Leber (Prep Dig Rank #7, Committed to Colorado State) is powerful on offense and fast on defense.

There are 32 teams competing in the 18 Elite division and each one of them has talented athletes. A teams success in a tournament like this comes down to talent, resilience, and consistency across multiple weekends. It will be fun to watch how the rest of the league plays out.
