Here are a few match-ups I think may be pretty fun to watch during pool play on Saturday. All the matches should be great on Sunday because it will be bracket play!

Pool 3: Milwaukee Sting 18 Silver vs Wisconsin Ice 17 Purple – 1PM on Court 3
Sting 18 Silver has a nice #3 Badger Region Ranking in the 18’s Division, while Ice 17 Purple has earned themselves a #6 Badger Region Ranking in the 17’s Division. Silver has plenty of commits, including setter Anne Hopp (2019 – Committed To Bemidji State). Ice doesn’t have any commits among their 2020s yet, but they have a pair of talented setters of their own that would be great pick-ups at the Division 2 level, including Elizabeth Hartson Elizabeth Hartson 5'9" | DS/L Merrill | 2020 State WI (2020 – 5’9 – Setter/Pin Hitter – Merrill) and Maggie Lawrynk Maggie Lawrynk 5'9" | DS/L SPASH | 2020 State WI (2020 – 5’9 – Setter/Middle Blocker – SPASH). Ice recently finished 2nd at the BWD Volleyball Classic in the 18’s division. This should be a fun match -up to watch at 1pm on Court 3 in the Woodside Sports Dome.

Pool 2: Adversity 17-1 vs Wisconsin Ice 18 White- 8AM on Court 5
This particular Adversity squad has made some solid appearances in Orlando in June the last couple years. They are led by Breyonna Jackson Breyonna Jackson DS/L Wauwatosa West | 2020 State WI (2020 – 5’6 – Outside Hitter -Wauwatosa West) who had a solid season in 2018. They’ve got a nice Badger Region Rank of #7 in the 17s division, while Wisconsin Ice 18 White has a Badger Region #8 Rank in the 18s division. Ice has a number of committed seniors, including Skylar Rickstad Skylar Rickstad 5'0" | DS/L Wausau West | 2019 State WI (Committed to UW-Lacrosse), Megan Schroder Megan Schroder 5'11" | OH Merrill | 2019 State WI (Committed to UW-Stevens Point), Gabby Johnson Gabby Johnson 5'9" | MB Stevens Point | 2019 State WI (2019 – Committed to St. Cloud State), and Kelsie Belford (Committed to UW–Stevens Point)

Pool 2: Milwaukee Sting 16 Silver vs Milwaukee Sting 15 White – 8AM on Court 11
Sting teams practice in the same facility, and I would guess that these two teams know a little bit about each other. 16 Silver is a regional squad, whereas 15 White is one of the national teams. Silver has earned a #5 Rank in the 16’s, while White is #8 in the 15’s division. 16 Silver has finished 1st in the Adidas Girls Season Opener and 2nd in the JVA MKE Jamboree in the 16 Club division. 15 White has a number of tools, including Abbie Stigler Abbie Stigler MB University School | 2022 State WI (2022 – Outside Hitter – University School Of Milwaukee), Halie Markovic Halie Markovic 5'10" | OH Kettle Moraine Lutheran | 2022 State WI (2022 – Middle Blocker), and Tatum Kebisek Tatum Kebisek 5'9" | S Brookfield Central | 2022 State WI (2022 – 5’8 – Setter – Brookfield Central).
Pool 4: Milwaukee Sting 15 Burlington vs FDL Fusion 16 Purple – 1PM on Court 13
Don’t understimate 15 Burlington under the direction of UW-Milwaukee’s head coach Susie Johnson. They are led by her daughter, Josie Johnson Josie Johnson 5'6" | S Waterford | 2022 State WI (2022 – Setter – Waterford), Emily Glembin (2022 – Outside Hitter – St. Thomas More), and Katie Heidenrich (2022 – 5’7 – Outside Hitter – Nicolet). 15 Burlington finished 1st at Adidas Girls Season Opener and 7th at the JVA MKE Jamboree in the 15 Open division.
They’ve earned Badger Region Ranking #2 in the 15s division. FDL might be their stiffest competition in pool play, and FDL has beaten 15 Burlington during Badger Region Power League play. FDL is led by Amalia Fox (2021 – Middle Blocker), Gianna Trotter (2022 – Outside Hitter – Fond du Lac), and Kendall Ahern (2021 – Outside Hitter – St. Mary Springs).
