Premier 16 Gold went 6-0 in pool play the first two days of the tournament and was only pushed to three sets one time – that coming on the second day as Premier took a 16-25, 25-18, 15-12 win over Rage 16s.
In Sunday’s championship competition in 16 Open, Premier swept Texas Image 16 Black and then took a 27‑25, 21‑25, 15‑5 victory over Arizona EVJ 16N1 to set-up a clash with Sunshine 16 South Bay for the right to play for the championship. Premier controlled the match with Sunshine for most of the time in taking a 25-20, 25-22 victory, clinching its bid to USAV Nationals and putting the team in the championship.
In the finals, Colorado Juniors 16 Shannon was able to hold off Premier in three sets 17-25, 25-20, 15-8.
Premier also got a fourth-place finish from Premier 17 Gold in 17 Open. In that division, Premier was one of three teams to go 2-1 in the championship pools on Sunday and they went to a tie-breaker series. Premier defeated Vision 17 Gold 27-25 in the first playoff set but then fell 25-12 to Arizona Storm Elite.
Premier had defeated Arizona Storm Elite 19-25, 25-21, 15-7 earlier in the day and Arizona Storm Elite would go on to win the 17 Open championship.
