Seeing friends and teammates commit and make their decision I’m sure adds to the excitement and a little bit of pressure of knowing when is the right time to make the call to a coach and say, “I’m coming”. Here are some 2020’s that committed over the past couple months and where they are heading. We have some heading to the “UP” while others are opting for warmth!
Tahya Pozorski – MVP – Oconomowoc – Libero
Committed to Jacksonville State (AL)
Pozorski has been high on the radar for a while with plenty of USA High Performance training and competing for a top level club her whole career. Really smooth with her movement, can play any position in the backrow, Pozorski is just solid all around. She will be heading to Jacksonville State which is in Jacksonville, Alabama right between Birmingham and Atlanta, they are part of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Ashley Sharkus – VC United – Oconomowoc – Libero
Committed to Eastern Illinois
Sharkus joins Pozorski and Caitlin Crawford (South Carolina) in the backrow for Oconomowoc which doesn’t leave much debate for the top defense in the state. Sharkus has been playing with another high school teammate in Tayler Alden for VC United in Rockford, IL. She is one of three players from 2020 who have committed to Ohio Valley Conference programs (Tahya Pozorski-Jacksonville State and Izzy Schauer-Belmont).
Erin Powers – Milwaukee Sting – Mukwonago – Libero
Committed to University of Alabama – Birmingham (UAB)
Powers has been rock solid at libero for Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold this season along with Crawford. Besides being a libero, Powers can swing on the pin which she could be a top point scorer for Mukwanago this upcoming high school season. UAB is in Birmingham and competes in Conference USA which has traditionally been strong with the likes of Western Kentucky.
Izzy Schauer – Milwaukee Sting – Belmont – Setter
Pure gamer. Schauer was a huge part of the success of Watertown this past fall and will be looking to do it again for her Senior season. She is a solid defender, can attack, and take what the defense gives her. Belmont is in Nashville, Tennessee and will be under a new coach which Schauer brings the intensity to build a solid culture around a new program.
Nicole Pozorski – MVP – Mukwonago – Setter
Committed to Upper Iowa
Pozorski’s style is just fun to watch and be around, she is athletic, creative with how she can run an offense and can also attack. Pozorski and Powers will be the major go to players for Mukwonago this fall and will be fun to see how they can team up to score points. Upper Iowa is Division 2 in the Northern Sun Conference.
Lauren Richards – One Wisconsin – Appleton West – Middle Blocker
Committed to Michigan Tech
Richards has such a fast arm with a quick snap where it doesn’t take long for the ball to hit the floor. An athletic style of play, Richards will be heading to a program that most recently made the NCAA Tournament in 2018. She will join former Wisconsin preps in Grace Novotny (DSHA), Briana Sharkey (Madison Edgewood), and Olivia Ghormley (Pulaski).
Katherine Walch – FC Elite – Notre Dame – Libero
Committed to Michigan Tech
Walch has such a fire and intensity about her style of play. She is a floor leader with such passion for the game and her teammates. Walch and Richards have always played against each other through club, but will now be teammates. She will be one of the top liberos in the FRCC this fall.
Jacqueline Smith – Wisconsin Ice – Northland Pines – Outside Hitter
Committed to Northern Michigan
Smith has really come on strong this club season on the pin. After picking up All-State honors the past two years, Smith definitely caught the attention of college coaches with her athleticism and ability to put the ball away. This is a big pick up for the Wildcats who have had great success with Wisconsin athletes.
Josie Salzman – Milwaukee Sting – Arrowhead – Outside Hitter
Committed to Pittsburg State (KS)
Salzman is heading a bit South to Pittsburg, Kansas to play for the Gorillas of Pittsburg State, a member of the MIAA Division 2 conference. Salzman is pretty gritty with a solid all around skill set playing for Sting and Arrowhead. Before she heads to be a Gorilla, she will be looking to help lead her team back to the state tournament.
Maddie Weyker – Milwaukee Sting – Brookfield Central – Outside Hitter
Committed to Bemidji State
Weyker is a six rotation outside hitter that is a solid all around player for BC and Sting. She will join the Wisconsin pipeline to Bemidji State with 2019 recruits Annie Hopp of Sheboygan North and Ashley East of McFarland.
Ainsley Apel – Capital Volleyball Academy – Sauk Prairie
Committed to St. Cloud
Apel is a solid all around defender heading to St. Cloud State which is a member of the Northern Sun Conference and will be seeing fellow Wisconsin preps such as Weyker and Pozorski. This is one of the toughest Division 2 conference in the nation with the likes of Concordia-St. Paul, Duluth, Southwest State, and Northern State to name a few. Coach Chad Braegelmann will be entering his fifth year as head coach for a program on the rise.
Maddy Dokken – Wisconsin Ice – SPASH

Dokken has found her spot on the outside and will be heading to Kenosha to play for UW-Parkside which recently switched conferences to be apart of the GLIAC with other Michigan/Great Lakes schools.
