In the 11 years I spent as a 6th grade teacher and the years I have coached volleyball, I always had at least one “Maddy” in my classroom or on the team. And yes, they all spelled their names differently or their names originated from Madison, Madelyn, Madeline, and so on. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week and for all those teachers and coaches who keep track of all of their students and athletes, and somehow remember how to spell their names correctly, this is for all the “Maddy’s” out there.
Writing for Prep Dig, I will be the first to point out I somehow find a way to mess up a name and I apologize in advance, I will do my best to make sure I have the correct spelling and the correct letters capitalized (Mckenna and McKenna, Makayla and MaKayla). However, a name I am continuing to work on and any of my former students would probably agree would be Haley, Halle, Halie, and Haleigh. My apologies still are going out there!
