There were the athletes who have been written about week in and week out, but what is most exciting about some of these camps is the chance to see new athletes who get to shine in a different light. They are starting their summer strong with hopes of carrying that into their high school season in the fall. Here is a look at new names that are NEED TO KNOW and to look for throughout the summer.
Corinne Meier – Dubuque Hempstead
Meier was at the High Performance camp and was bringing the heat with a cannon for an arm. The soon to be Junior at Hempstead was dominant in six on six play where she was scoring points at will. Meier played her club ball this past winter for Dubuque Sting and will soon no longer be a secret to college coaches as she continues to swing from the pin. She not only can score from the outside, but is a threat to get points attacking out of the backrow as well.
Haleigh Hadley – Gilbert
Hadley played for Iowa Heart this club season out of Central Iowa and will be a Senior at Gilbert High School this season. Keep an eye on the Tigers as they have a really strong core of returners that includes Thea Rotto and setter Taylor Grinley who was also impressive at HP Camp. Hadley plays high, she is athletic, quick, and can get above the net to swing or block.

Piper Kirchhoff – Dowling Catholic
Kirchhoff can do a little bit of everything in all six rotations. She was looking very impressive being on the same team at Meier in six on six drills with her ability to swing in any position in the front row. Extremely versatile and able to adjust incredibly well, she is a swiss army knife type of player that can do multiple things to help her team. For Dowling last year as a Freshman she had 130 kills and will have a chance to make a bigger contribution this fall as the Maroons will have an experienced roster to make another run to the state tournament.
Liz Pierce – Southeast Polk
Pierce was setting on Saturday at the Iowa HP camp and was really smooth with how she could move along the court, dishing to all positions and knowing when to attack on her own. She will be teaming up with Myah Shipley this fall who will be a solid middle blocker heading into her Sophomore season. The Des Moines metro area continues to get stronger and will be loaded with depth this upcoming high school season.
Paige Kisley and Dani Johnson back on the same court again from @OsageVolleyball – They will be looking to lead their high school team back for their fourth straight state tournament this fall.

Paige Kisley – Osage
Kisley is coming off an extremely successful track season for Osage where she was one of the top hurdlers in the state. At the College Elite Camp in Cedar Rapids, Kisley was able to show her athleticism and ability to swing and block from the either pin. She was a key contributor in Osage’s run to the state semifinals and will be back for her Junior season. With her athleticism, she could be a dual sport threat at the next level as well.
Macy Van Fossen – Underwood
Van Fossen brought a big swing to HP Camp this past weekend, traveling from Underwood just outside of Council Bluffs. Last season for Underwood she was just under 300 kills for the Eagles while also earning 1st Team All Western Iowa Conference. She will be quite the duo with fellow 2021 athlete, Zoe Russ.
Cassidy Boche – Cedar Rapids Jefferson
CR Jeff had a roster loaded with talented Seniors, but Boche will be returning for the J-Hawks this fall for her Senior year after being second on the team in kills enroute to the state tournament. Boche can play all the way around and is able to hit shots of power and finesse, avoiding the block to score points.
