They compete in the Fox Valley Conference and took down teams such as Neenah and Appleton North throughout their season. Kimberely was taken out in the quarterfinals of the State Tournament by Burlington in a tough five-set battle. Burlington would go on to win the State Championship later that weekend.
This is a clearly talented team with several key returning players who are sure to be fighting for an even better finish in the state this year.
Courtney Pearson (Prep Dig Rank #19) will be a senior outside hitter this year and a leader on this team. She is fast and comes out of nowhere when running plays. Her talent on defense and serve receive is just as impressive.
Kalli Mau (Prep Dig Rank #37, Committed to Bellarmine) is a senior setter who efficiently runs this team on the court. She plays smart volleyball and has the speed and skills to do so. Kalli makes fast decisions on the court and has a lot of control.
Carlee Doering (Prep Dig Rank #57) is an impactful middle who is a great blocker. She reads the other side of the court well and has great connections with her setters. Carlee makes smart and powerful shots that are hard to read and even harder to dig.
Lauren Elliott (Prep Dig Rank #42) will be an incoming junior and is incredible in the back row. She has a high Volleyball IQ and can read hitters very well. She isn’t afraid to throw herself across the court for a save. Lauren perfectly balances being scrappy but controlled.
Other players to watch include incoming freshman Kyla Dunaway, a powerful right side and middle who is a versatile player, and Ruby Esser (Prep Dig Rank #118), a senior who is an impactful middle and right side that was injured most of last season.
Besides their normal conference schedule, Kimberly will also be competing in the Joust, Challenge, and Sprawl. This talented team will be in it to win it this year. It will be exciting to watch their season unfold.
