After getting rid of the Freshmen jitters some will be looking to make the varsity team, others may be looking to lead their team to conference titles, or even a state appearance. From our initial rankings, plenty more have caught our eye with even more to add after the high school season. The Wisconsin Class of 2020 has nearly 200 players ranked and the Class of 2022 will be our first class to have Prep Dig Wisconsin for their whole high school career. Here are some new names to take note of from the Class of 2022.
Mary Satori – FC Elite – Manitowoc Lincoln (Title Photo)
Satori was part of an extremely talented FC Elite squad that featured some high flying hitters and Dayton commit Karissa Kaminski at libero. Kaminski started the year out at outside hitter, but once she moved to libero, Satori really stepped up as an outside hitter. She is extremely versatile also playing middle which she will do for Manitowoc Lincoln this Fall. With high performance training and continued success in the high school level, Satori will be one to watch as she progresses throughout her career.
Josie Johnson – Sting United-Burlington – Waterford
Josie JohnsonThe Prep Dig Gauntlet was really a time for Johnson to shine with her Sting United team out of Burlington. Johnson was also part of the Badger Region High Performance team, finishing 3rd in the Girls National Select Division. This upcoming fall she will be a key piece to the puzzle where she will be the top returning setter for the Wolverines.
Ally Barth – Balance – Edgewood
Barth had a breakout season where she was able to get on the radar for Prep Dig as well as USA Volleyball where she able to compete at the HP Championships in Florida. Barth is primarily used out of the middle and will be a potential big impact player for Edgewood who will be one of the top teams in the Madison area to make some noise. The Class of 2022 for Edgewood will be one to watch the next few years.
Lauren Hazelett – Capital Volleyball Academy – Edgewood
Hazelett has a solid platform, is dependable in serve receive, and is going to be one to keep tabs on in the backrow for Capital and for Edgewood. With ongoing training and experience, her game will only continue to get stronger with the training and high caliber talent she will be training around for high school and club.
Ella Buddenhagen – One Wisconsin – Kimberly
Buddenhagen brings a lot of strength on the outside where she was a main point scorer for 1W 15-1 this past season. Buddenhagen is part of the Kimberly program that is looking to get back to their third straight state tournament where she will provide plenty of depth for an already athletic lineup.
