You can follow the below links for each ranking, here is a quick run down on the rankings.
Class A: This should be the most competitively balanced season in Class A in quite a while. I had thought that Papillion-LaVista was a little ahead of the pack, but Elkhorn South is for real and is right there with the Monarchs at the top of Class A. But, this season, there are legitimately 10 teams or so that have a realistic shot and advancing past the first round of the state tournament. It should be a wild and fun season in Class A and I give the slight edge to Papillion-LaVista to open the season.
Class B: With Shayla McCormick out for the season with a knee injury and Lindsay Krause not expected back for a few weeks to start the season, it’s hard to view Skutt Catholic as the best team in Class B to open the year. The Skyhawks very easily could be by the end of the year, but right now, in my opinion, Waverly is the best team to open the year and the rankings reflect that. Norris and Omaha Duchesne are legitimate title contenders as well, but after the top four the drop off is significant in Class B. With there only being 27 teams in the class, it just is not a deep class this year.
Class C1: Class C1 is traditionally one of the deepest and most competitive classes in the state and this year it should be very competitive but I’m not so sure that it is as deep as in the past. Wahoo and St. Paul are pretty close but I’m going with the two-time defending Class C1 champs Wahoo to start the year. The Centennial Conference will again be loaded and there are four teams in the C1 top 10.
Class C2: For all I can tell, Grand Island Central Catholic and Hastings St. Cecilia are heads and shoulders above the rest of the field in Class C2. The two Centennial Conference rivals could face each other several times this year, but it just really seems like the most important meeting between the two will come on the last day of the season in Lincoln. I’m going with GICC to start the season because its superior depth.
Class D1: Class D1 just really feels like it’s Diller-Odell’s party. There are many other really good teams in Class D1 as well, but the Griffins are just so good and have so much talent. Meridian, Overton, CWC, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Pleasanton and others make the class pretty deep, but Diller-Odell is the cream of the crop right now.
Class D2: I’m going with Wynot to open the season as the top team, but BDS and Nebraska Christian are right there as well and Class D2 should be very competitive this year.
