An incredible day of volleyball was experienced this past Saturday with several matches played throughout the day and across multiple courts at Edina High School. For coaches, athletes, and volleyball enthusiasts alike, this event is a great opportunity to see how teams measure up as the new season gets underway. As this is the first official weekend of competition, it may be tempting to put a lot of stake and emphasis into match results rather than look at them more objectively knowing it is a long journey for each team to reach postseason play at the end of the next several weeks. Needless to say, results aside, there were some incredible performances by teams and individuals that have us here at Prep Dig that more much excited that the 2019 high school season is upon us! The following is a list of some of the top individual performances and notable match results. Among the list are some highly touted athletes from around the state as well as some emerging athletes that look to establish or grown their own presence this season as a key contributor.
