There was lots of talk about the 4A teams battling in the Gold bracket of the Wheaton Classic, but there was quite a bit of action in the other two-thirds of the tournament.

Silver Bracket Finishes:

Championship (ninth place)
Lemont def. Prairie Ridge 25-20, 25-19
Silver third (11th place)
Geneva def. St. Charles North 25-22, 18-25, 25-15
Silver fifth (13th place)
Libertyville over Rosary 25-14, 25-19
Silver seventh (15th place)
Dekalb def. IC Catholic 21-25, 25-21, 25-20

All Tournament picks from silver bracket:

Anna Loberg 2021, S, Geneva
Geneva played their share of tough matches over the weekend, but Loberg kept her composure and led the team to the second place finish in the bracket.

Amy Schwem, 2020, S, Lemont
Another outstanding setter on a well balanced offensive team, Schwem controlled the tempo to lead them to the victory in the Silver Final.

Trinity Sheridan, 2020, RS, Prairie Ridge
Offensively, as strong as any hotter at this tournament. If there is a weakness, it's defensively, but her speed on the attack is devastating.

Rising stock
Laura Ringness, 2020, RS, St. Charles North
At 6'0, Ringness has an ample block and the ability to hit the ball with force. When SCN is in trouble, look for Laura to get the ball.

Kayli Hilliard, 2020, MB, Dekalb
Her timing on blocking in the middle is impressive. There were attacks to the pins and Kayli was able to move and anticipate the attack. Her arm swing is quick and leathal, but if she improves her footwork, they will be tough to stop.

Amanda Rice, 2021, RS, Lemont
When Lemont needed a point out of serve receive, they set Rice to get the kill. As a junior, she will only improve and get better. She is smart right side, being able to pick where the whole is and hot both line and cross.
