<p><strong>Wheaton Warrenville South (WWS) defeats Downer’s Grove South (DGS) 25-20, 25-18</strong></p>
<p>Behind the offensive play of<strong> Zayna Meyer</strong> <strong>(2021, 6’1, OH, Sports Performance VBC, Brigham Young)</strong> and the defensive passing of <strong>Darby Harris</strong> <strong>(2022, 5-8, S/L, Sports Performance VBC)</strong> WWS returned from a second set 2-7 deficit to bring it within one at 14-15. Two points later, they grabbed the lead and brought it to 20-16 before the DGS timeout. Wheaton Warrenville finished the set and match scoring the next 5 of 7 points. <strong>Lizzie Chiesa</strong> <strong>(2021, 5’8, OH)</strong> had both key kills and defensive gems in the team’s win.</p>
<p>DGS had standout performances by setter <strong>Addison Karmik</strong> <strong>(2021, 5’9, S)</strong> and<strong> Lily Ross</strong>. <strong>Karmik</strong> had 16 assists, 2 blocks, 5 digs and <strong>Ross</strong> added 5 kills, 4 blocks in the loss.</p>
