Here who impressed this past week in the thumb area.
North Branch
The team reigned victorious at their home quad going 3-0. The Broncos swept foes Frankenmuth and Saginaw Heritage before being pushed to 3 sets against Harbor Beach. Leading the way, MB Hannah Farnsworth pocketed 24 points, putting away 15 kills and shutting out 7 attacks. Libero Charlise Hyde brought up 20 digs and received 51 serves at an 80% rate.
Brown City
The Green Devils had a tough go around in the highly competitive Cros-Lex 6 Team Tournament, going 2-3-2. Leading the way were Brown City’s OH duo Grace Schlaud and Makayla Cournaya. Schlaud averaged over 4 kills/set for 65 kills on the day. Cournaya put up 32 kills with 7 aces. Libero Lauren Woods led the defense with another 50+ dig day while bringing in points with 9 aces.
Unionville-Sebewaing

Defensively, Maci Montgomery had another impressive outing posting 56 digs and a 79% reception rate on 77 attempts.
Frankenmuth
Going 1-2 in their opening day at the North Branch Quad, the Eagle squad has a lot of positive things to look forward to. Dropping games to North Branch and Heritage, they took both sets from a tough Harbor Beach team. Pacing her offense and leading her team was setter Jordyn Conrad. Conrad brought in 48 assists and 20 digs while averaging over a kill per set. Being dished the most was OH Brooklin Karwat who smoked 21 kills and 5 aces while bringing up 13 digs.
Week 3 marks the start of nonstop volleyball as teams across the state resume play and won’t stop until early to mid-November.
