Illinois eye catchers at Asics Challenge – Palos Courts Friday

<p>In a tournament this size and spaced over two gyms, there's a lot to keep track of. When a sophomore comes to play hard, you look for your senior leaders to follow suit.You will find Marian Catholic in Pool 1, Court 1. </p> <p><strong>30  Anna Calcagno, 6'2, OH, St. Francis<br /> </strong>The senior outside hitter leads St. Francis with 181 kills on the season. Look for Nazareth on court 4, Pool 3</div> <div> </div> <div> </div> <div> <div class="player"><strong>14 Bella Ray, 2020, 6'2, MH, Joliet Catholic, Sports Performance VBC,</strong> .</div> <div class="club-team">JCA is one of the few middle oriented offenses in this tournament as Ray has 127 kills on the year. a third seed in the #2 Pool, playing on court 2, they have a tough road ahead of them.  </div> </div> <div class="player"> </div> <div class="player"><strong> 9 Zoey Seput, 2020, 5'8, S, Minooka, Uno VBC, UC Riverside</strong></div> <p>Another talented setter at this tournament, Seput is an integral part of the success of this team. She has 375 assists in 32 sets played and leads the team in service aces with 13. Not many setters are in the top two on their team in blocking, but she ranks second with 26 tatl blocks for the year. You can't count Minooka out as they are the top seed of Pool 5, playing on Court 4.</p> <div class="player"><strong>15  Jenna Splitt, 2021, 5'11, S/RS, Cary-Grove, Sky High VBC, Iowa</strong></div> <div>Only a Junior, Splitt is both a threat offensively as an attacker and can run the offense as a setter. Heading to Iowa in 2021, she is playing on Court 5, Pool 4 on Friday.</div> <div> </div> <p><strong>Any starter from MARIST. </strong>Definitely one of the deepest teams in the state, they should easily reign on Court 2, Pool 2. The questions is who will be there go to for Friday. They have a number of outstanding players we have discussed this year, so we will have to see.
