The final matches of the regular season are upon us with sectional play just around the corner. With that, the Moorhead Spuds are hosting their annual Pumpkin Classic this Friday and Saturday. Some of the teams set to join the Spuds include: Willmar, Totino-Grace, Big Lake, Spring Lake Park, Roseville, Wadena-Deer Creek, Osseo, Roseau, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, and Duluth East. Here are four attackers that will provide a lot of exciting point-scoring action this weekend:

Sophia Kobienia - Willmar | RS | 2021
At 6’0 and left-handed, Kobienia is a dynamic contributor for the Cardinals. Her primary position is at opposite where she excels on both sides of the ball. Among the kill leaders for Willmar, she can hammer the ball. She is especially good when Willmar delivers a more moderate tempo to the pins that creates a little room for her. With space, watch out. The ball can get on the defenders in a hurry. With good mechanics, she adjusts well to tempo and what’s in front of her across the net. She also has great blocking prowess with good preparation and vision that sets her up well to get her hands over the net fast.

[player_tooltip player_id="58045" first="Riley" last="Stichter"] - Osseo | RS | 2021
Among the offensive leaders for the Orioles, Stichter has good versatility in her ability to score from both the right side and middle. She gets off the floor quickly. With good timing she can contact the ball well for healthy swings and movement at the peak of her jump. With better preparation in her footwork and at the net, and if she can consistently creat a double-arm lift when attacking, she’ll be available more and elevate better thus increasing her point scoring opportunities and range. Stichterm leads the Orioles in total blocks for 2019. She has great experience playing with MN Select’s top 16’s team and provides good support for the Orioles’ dynamic pair of pin attackers.

Kennedy Gravelle - Wadena-Deer Creek | MB | 2020
The Woverines’ leader in total kills and blocks, she is a terminator. In four matches in October, she has totaled 95 kills over 16 sets for a whopping 5.9 kills/set average. This includes a 29 kill performance against conference rival New York Mills and a 27 kill performance versus Breckenridge. Her career includes great team and individual success, including a state tournament appearance in 2017. With her offensive outputs, WDC could get there again in a few weeks. Currently, the Wolverines are undefeated in the Park Region conference standings

[player_tooltip player_id="57546" first="Rylie" last="Rios"] - Totino-Grace | OH | 2020
Through great composure and court presence, Rios provides stability for the Eagles with both ball control and her attacking presence. At 5’10, she displays fluid footwork patterns in her approach that builds good momentum. She has a nice arm and can move the ball around well, especially through the defense to the deeper parts of the court, although she can get on top of it well when the opportunity is presented. Her size includes good length to pursue the ball defensively as a primary defender from the middle back zone and she has great balance and platform work in serve receive.
