The standout from Wilder was a Second Team All-State honoree for the 2019 season. She earned the All-State honor earlier in the month. Epplen was named to the All-A State All-Tournament Team in both 2017 and 2018. She was named the 34th District Volleyball Tournament MVP as a junior. Epplen amassed 839 kills over her four-year varsity high school career. A strong presence at the net, Epplen registered over 200 career blocks during her stint in high school.
During Epplen’s senior season, St. Henry won the 34th District championship and finished runner-up in the 9th Region. Epplen and teammates Natalie Noll and Taylor Preston (pictured) were honored as All-34th District Tournament Team selections in late-October.
Epplen committed to Northern Kentucky in May 2018. Along with Epplen, Northern Kentucky has added Torie Houston, Lillian Leiner, Allie Siefke, Skyy Smith and Katy Yopko to its latest recruiting class.
Northern Kentucky competes with Wright State, Milwaukee, Green Bay, UIC, Oakland, Cleveland State, IUPUI and Youngstown State in the Horizon League.
