At Bridgeport (Red Hill) SUPER-SECTIONAL
Norris City (N.C.-Omaha-Enfield) vs. Altamont, 7:00 pm
Both teams did not make the Super-Sectional last year, but the team who did, St. Theresa, moved up to 3A.
Emilee Bishop (2020, OH) tallied 230 kills on the season, 15 alone in the Nov. 4 Playoff match against Grayson. Expect her to lift N.C.-Omaha-Enfield to the state tournament.
At Freeport (Aquin) Super-Sectional
Newark vs. Dakota, 7 PM
In 2018, Newark were champs. It’s hard to think they won’t win, but don’t count Dakota out.
Tabytha Toelke (2021, 6’0, OH, Dakota) amassed 526 kills and she will need all that skill and quality teamwork to defeat Newark.
Madi Malone (2021, 6’0, OH, Newark, Adversity VBC) a sought after junior prospect and an integral part of last year’s state team, will be looked upon to lead the team to another trip to State.
New Berlin Super-Sectional
Athens vs. Greenfield [Coop] 6:00 PM
Greenfield was a Sectional finalist in 2018, but in 2019, Caroline Lendy (2020, 6’0, OH/MH, Athens) for Athens has 425 kills and looks to be tough to stop offensively for the Warriors. Greenfield needs to contain Lendy to secure a trip to states.
Varna (Midland) Super-Sectional
Glasford (Illini Bluffs) vs. Milford, 6:00 pm
Milford’s Caley Mowrey (5’11, 2022, OH/MH) is an up-and-comer as a sophomore. She has 365 kills and a 368 hitting percentage. This sophomore could be a difference-maker come Friday.
