State Champion and Sioux City Connection
Sergeant-Bluff has been so close, would this be there year? After fighting off a tough Glenwood team in the first round of the state tournament, SBL rolled through the semifinals and finals claiming a state title. Mia Gamet, a 2021 libero was extremely key in their run to the top as one of the top liberos in Western Iowa. Scrappy, gritty, and consistent, SBL was able to get into their offense for their dynamic powers to do some damage. Gamet was named All-District as well as Honorable Mention All-State after having over 300 digs and 40 aces.
Lineya Wells is one of the top attackers in the Siouxland area after having 350 kills for Sioux City East this season. East went 25-15 with Wells earning All-District honors in Class 5A.
